Some movies can never be true 4K and will always be 2K unless they work on each individual original piece of 35mm film, which would take frikken ages and a lot of work.
So instead they release for instance 4K The Lord of the Rings, but it isn't true 4K, just 2k, and in some instances makes the movie look worse, not better. It is the same with a lot of older movies.
Many of the new ones from about 2017 are true 4K as they are shot on digital.

HDR on a 1955s print. LOL.
Why did you take that as a complaint? I'm glad people are looking at older films with discernment. Artificial Eye. Criterion. Kino Lorber. Eureka! Etc.
It pays to speak more than one language here because the English world misses many good films at least in release.
