Current HDPVRs will function on 1 input with view 1 channel but they wont boot up with only 1 tuner active, so you need to at least confuse it by doing a "1x4" split
New HDPVR, my guess is you would lose the TV guide & record 1
But as I said above, you cant have a PVR & not use PVR functions, well you can but its crazy
Interesting, thanks. It's not crazy, I really do not watch TV and only want the decoder to have the world cup in HD. Afterwards I will sell it again. Plus I most likely have to move apartment in September and the high installation cost would be a waste... Not that I can afford a years subscribtion to DSTV in any case! So if I can watch HD on the decoder, don't have to waste huge amounts of money on installation, sell it again in three months time but loose every other function on the decoder I'd be happy!
Twin LNB is closer to R300
I bet you have never had a PVR before
Its R65 now, its all one & the same so you cant pick & choose which functions you want

Well yes, if you have a completely separate dish, to my knowledge. (As far as I know, there is no way to run 3 different decoders off a single dish installation.)

I have my own cmplete seperate dish...do I need another one..?
ok, I'm sure you installed dstv in some mansion in your lifetime.....4 bedrooms, each with his own TV and DStv decoder + the TV room, lounge and kitchen.....what do you do then...?
Are you telling my that you can only run 2 decoders in xtraview.....?
That is what a multiswitch is for.
I have the extraview set up with two 1110 decoders...I want to get this new HD PVR decoder. Does one SD decoder then go in the bin? Since I bought my HD LCD, my old 54 CRT is in the cupboard. Will I be able to make use of this 'redundant' SD decoder and TV in another room?
:erm: i wonder if it's a major to lose EPG or TV Guide???
certainly to NOT record 2 could'nt bother me... One is FINE!
remember my wife is going to do the installation....
Update:
The new PVR has landed on shore... In Durban Harbour and surprise surprise, they are stuck there due to transnet strikes! Could be another 2 weeks before release
