New DStv streaming package deal

That would be up to the sporting bodies themselves unfortunately, its not like DSTV has set the price, the sporting bodies do...

and unfortunately we are at the mercy of the international market which can set high prices for exclusivity.
I'm not directly blaming DSTV, but the current situation is not sustainable. Some adjustments will need to be made.

Not impossible. There's been times I've been much into Cricket, Tennis and Golf together and that can easily deliver your high demands

Golf and tennis are a dead loss, where I am concerned. But cricket golf and tennis, would be 3 streams, and well, you know what that means ... , l am not buying multiple subscriptions to watch on 3 screens. And well their pathetic app does not know what multi-screen is.

I 100% agree with you, and if anything we still have a relatively decent "market" offering for sports in this country where you can pay 1 fee and get access to pretty much all the sports you want.

Imagine being in the states where you have to have 3 or 4 services to watch all the "local" matches of your favourite sport because each division or area is selling the rights to different entertainment houses.

And DSTV is only to willing to pay what is asked - takes two to make a deal.

Don't say that...

Also, the cost of sport here has to be looked at from a weak Rand point of view.
That is, if one wants ALL the sport. Most don't need to have that much, and that's what DStv doesn't seem to understand

So this I would agree with as well.

I want the wipipo sports.. cricket, rugby and F1... you can keep the soccer for someone else.

Is it my imagination, or are a few things looking up since Canal+ stuck their peepee into DStv's business?

Stay tuned... 😇

You are imagining if you ask me.

Canal+ doesn't give a toss about DSTV's English business, expect them to rape it as much as Multichoice always have. Canal+ are after the Francophone market in Africa.

Why do you care, you don't even watch sport.
Cause I want cheaper DSTV :-( why must I pay for the sport. I just want to turn on my TV and watch

Still got to be a better effort than the local lot have made in recent years.

I would doubt it to be honest, I don't see Canal+ making any real changes if/when they get control... its the dying cash cow that will be used to fund growth elsewhere.
