Hey Guys
I've been running an Foxconn's overclocked Nvidia Geforce 8800GT since 2008, which until recently worked great, but to my utter dismay, my card finally cracked and died on me. I tried all the baking and other quick fixes but none worked for me, and so, the time has come to replace my card.
The only problem I'm really faced with is the PCI Express versions. I am running an Intel Core 2 Quad cpu (Q8400 clocked at 2.66GHz) on an Intel DG33BU motherboard. Please don't tell me to upgrade because being a student is tough and it's one component at a time.
I was looking at getting a GTX 550Ti, but my mate who has the exact same board said that the machine sent no video feed to the card. Now my fear is the card I get will not be compatible with my motherboard.
Can anyone suggest something decent that's in the performance field of the 550Ti that will work on my board. I don't mind Nvidia or ATi, however I prefer Nvidia.
Thanks in advance for your help!!
