New Hardware.. What do you guys think?

Sorry for all this questions.. but i do like the feedback you guys give me :)

What Motherboard would be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet

Number 1: Asus P8Z68-V
Number 2: Gigabyte - GA-Z68AP-D3
Number 3: Asus P8P67 PRO - Revision 3
Number 4: Asus P8P67-M
Number 5: Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3

Or any other you guys prefer let me know :)

OH! And will this Memory be kicking it.. Corsair Vengeance - 8GB ( 2 x 4 GB ) DDR3 1600MHz

How do you find the motherboard so far? And what is your PC specs on it? :P I checked for the V8 Cooling System but Takealot do not have stock sadly, so i am probally going for the V6
 
ok go for a i5-2500k corsair 650-750w psu, z68 motherboard and 8GB 1600mhz gaming memory and you should be fine.

for the case have a look at the corsair or silverstone cases

i7 2600k @ 4.5GgHz. Goes up to 5gHz.
8GB Corsair Vengence (1600)
128GB Crucial M4 SSD
8TB HDD
ATI 5850
GIGAbyte 720 watts


Motherboard is a tiny powerhouse. Compares well-even better than full sized boards (including the Maximus)
You won't go wrong with this mobo :) I had a bit of a problem with the amount of SATA ports- so currently using the external ports with a cable looped in :/

I normally stick with Gigabyte but Rectron was out of stock on the motherboard.


Edit: Let me reiterate- Get a SSD!:p

Go use someones PC with a SSD.

Explain this SSD for me please.. Is it like the new Hardrive? you can install windows etc on it store shiz game from it? with just 1000000000000x faster than SATA?
 
Its basically a hard drive. Just flash based. You have to see it in action to understand. My PC boots in less then a minute. Never actually timed it. You install Windows on it, and applications. Media is stored on another hard drive. Costs about 2k for a 128GB SSD.

Word/Photoshop opens up in less then a second. When Windows starts there is no loading-waiting time for the Desktop to be ready. You get the idea :p

@_@ Now you want me to buy one as well.. So do you use the SSD just for Windows and some software? Do you install games on another hardrive?
 
Ask any member here that owns an SSD

Windows and all my software. As well as some games. Media and large games go on the other hdd's.

This will actually make you feel like you have a new system. You'll see and feel the difference. I actually purchased my SSD before I upgraded my system. Actually I'd recommend to any member to upgrade to a SSD first. Youll thank us later :D Whats your current system?

Btw- its supremely easy to overclock the i5/i7 processors on the Asus motherboard.
 
Better mobo gives no performance increase. ATX size is generally favoured over mATX. I fail to see the need for RoG boards when budget is R10k besides CUD and bragging rights...

P8P67 is recommended because it's the most common value for money for features/expansion/OCing board that those buying i5/i7 'K' CPUs go for.

SSDs provide some of the most noticeable performance increases, choose mobo wisely (listen to what we say) to allow for an SSD.

Actually there are performance increases but it is minimal.

Generally speaking there is not many differences between mobo's. Just the chipsets. The rest are just added ports, sound chips etc.

Both will overclock fine if you're going in that direction.

Rather take the-any P67 and get a SSD.
 
Do you guys recommend the OCZ VERTEX 3 SATA III 2.5 Inch 60GB Solid State Drive.. it's 60GB but it's cheaper than the others you get and i don't have the $$$ for a 120GB atm.

If i get that i will run my windows from it and small software.. and use another 1TB Seagate hardrive for my game installations/Music etc..

Windows is bloated as it installs a schiteload of crap you will never need, look at stripping it down for your SSD.

I don't agree. I've had plenty of problems with Asus boards, but my old Gigabyte board was as stable as a rock.
Nothing wrong with Gigabyte.

Product longevity is luck of the draw, always.

After-sales service however is standard... This is where Asus really wins. ;)
