After-sales service however is standard... This is where Asus really wins.![]()

The problems I had weren't longevity related.
TBH... i have been using Gigabyte Motherboards for 5years.. never ever! had a single problem with them, but now that i am a first user on Asus boards i will see the difrence what is realy the best.
If the Asus failed on the first day it still would not be an indicator of what's best since failure is based on luck of the draw.
True, but can't realy comment on Asus yetwill be first time i use the motherboards, but hope i have luck like i had with Gigabyte.
I see no reason why you wouldn't have the same luck.
And if you don't, at least you have local support (cannot emphasise this enough).
State the problems so we can understand possibly why not to buy Asus in your opinion.
Asus haven't had non longevity related problems for years AFAIK so I'm interested to hear. I expect a somewhat unique, non widespread case.
I never said don't buy Asus, I just said there's nothing wrong with Gigabyte, because some other guy said "Always get a Asus"
I've got a GA-P35-DS3R and P8P67 Deluxe atm, both are as stable as a rock. So, I am not at all biased like you might think...
However, evidence to support my claims:
Their cheaper mobo range aren't the same quality as the more expensive ones.
My dad got a cheaper asus mobo (few hundred rand), and it won't even let him flash the BIOS to upgrade the CPU, main reason so that it can bypass the stupid warning it gives on each boot.
Please note that cheaper price should not imply lesser quality, merely lesser features.
