Hi all.

New to this and hoping someone can please assist.

We just moved into a new place and are trying to set up a fibre line. We started the process through Vox/Vumatel but it's been held up because there was an existing line with Cool Ideas/Vumatel from the previous owners. Vox keep telling me they can't install while the other ISP is active. The previous owner contacted Cool Ideas to cancel but was told it will take a full calendar month post the month of request to be cancelled (ie 30 June 2021) - despite it being a month to month contract.
Is anyone aware of the either the validity of this or a way to expedite the process. Not getting anywhere with Vox or Vumatel contacts. Already been close to 3 weeks since order date and getting pretty desperate with WFH etc. At this point, happy to go with any reliable service provider who can assist.

Thank you!

You need to send proof of address to Vox. Vox needs to provide this to Vumatel and then Vumatel will request the cancellation on your behalf from Cool Ideas.

Thanks Cavedog.

Did that I think on the same day I placed the order. Still getting same "we're following up answer" from them. Nothing seems to help

It's a calendars months notice, which is a month to month service. This means the previous owner didn't cancel correctly as per their terms. Drop me a PM with some details and I can try assist :)

I'm gonna be in the same boat soon, moving to a new place and the owners just gave notice which means nothing will be doable for at least a month lol.

I'm seriously considering MTNs Air Fiber thingie to avoid the issues I can see coming in fighting with the old owners current ISP not releasing the fiber.

Hadn't heard of this. Definitely looking into it. Have you heard anything more about it? How has it been received?
