New Iburst Acc Type

What about local bandwidth?

Can we please get some form of local bandwidth included in our monthly bundle.

Could work like this:

After initial cap is used up international is throttled to whatever speed (64/128).

Local bandwidth remains at full speed, until the user uses up there local bandwidth allowance.

This would be great for gamers or people who make use of local servers.

I say R150 is a tad much I would go with R99

or otherwise R150 for a 384 after cap

As an ex iBurst and current Neotel customer, I am beginning to think Telkom was / is the best option

Morning all

The Product team has put together a mail box for your ideas and suggestions.

[email protected]

They are awaiting your suggestions regarding the increased capped speeds.

Thanks

I would support this - 64kbps it a bit tedious at times...hope they really consider this :D

Hi guys

Good suggestions are always looked at. they need support though. Maybe all supporting this should mail the simplified mailbox.

Thanks

Hi Shaun

While I appreciate that you guys want us to send emails to support this, I assume to motivate the morons on high to do something, it was just a suggestion as Iburst's core offering has become "stale". There has been no product development.

You guys are offering new product types, eg WiMax 3G etc but the core offering is Iburst. The only thing I can see Iburst offers thats is better than the other "broadband" offerings is the "uncapped" element. The idea of offering a slightly higher "uncapped" portion for almost double the revenue you get for a 1Gig account was just my way of giving an idea that will expand your revenue base at almost no cost. This should also stop customers looking at Neotel's Lite uncapped package as I assume most who take that one are looking for an affordable uncapped option.

Perhaps the best way to do this would be to put up a survey on the site with the idea's your new product team has and see which is the most wanted.

Lastly I dont want this confused with a rant. I like Iburst but the 64k is slowly becoming unusable. I am begging you guys... dont become a reseller or you guys will go the way of the dinosaur.
:D

how about this:

account type A)
connection that isn't throttled, modified and slowed to a halt, but you get cut off if your cap is up.

account type B)
keep as current, and let the capped guys carry on "surfing" on a 64k connection.

i'll take option A anytime - we barely even touch our cap its so slow.

I would be better if I could buy extra gig's at a reasonable price (like neotel or cheaper R50), instead of being throttled down. 1gig cap last about 10 days and then I am on 64k. I wouldnt mind 128k, but I'd rather not being throttled at all. A bigger cap maybe? please? with seacom coming that would be nice.

I'm not by any means an iBurst fanboy to go around, but really that's pathetic. I get 50-110K/s on my iBurst line while not capped.... anyone here knows that 3GB goes by pretty fast with that speed. Sarcastic rants wont help anything, this thread is here for new creative ideas to benefit all, not for complaining about something that isn't even as bad as you make it out. The only thing you might gain from your little whinge is a reduction in bandwidth capacity for the month so that you actually DO reach your cap with your slow speeds
If you want more, get DSL or HSDPA?

Amen Frag we need new ideas guys.
Please no gimme more gigs for same money or my Iburst sucks.

These comments don't help

Another option I was considering is perhaps they could open the tap after 2200 and before 0600, you know when the aren't busy. I dunno I still prefer another 64k+ for some extra cash.

Remember NO MORE WHINING, if you wanna whine open a new thread!

What about local-only on iBurst ??

Yeeaaah, those are the type of ideas we need! Speciality packages - the sort that's already becoming way more common in the DSL arena, while iBurst still has the same styled packages (which work, but aren't as competitive anymore) that it had years ago. As long as it's done in a way so that it's still profitable, I dont see why not!

I currently pay R199 for 1 gig and 64k throttle. Let me pay R398 for 2 gigs and 128k throttle. Also consider increased throttled speeds during non-business hours.

Hi guys.

Just chatted with Product. They are currently busy with another product and will then look at the increased cap speed. Hope this comes soon.

Thanks and dont forget to mail your ideas to [email protected]
