New iBurst Group CEO announced

congratulations jannie, you're a refreshing injection of credibility into iburst.

Awesome! Well done Jannie. A lot of your posts have been extremely helpful and I'm sure you'll do a good job.

Hope the iBurst crowd gives a chance to shine before they start moering him on the forum though :p

I suspect that it will happen and it will be from all these people giving him such praise.

Good luck Jannie and I hope you get the bonuses every other CEO gets.

:):D:cool:

As the new CEO, what change will you bring? Will Iburst become cheaper than failcom with better Rand for gig?

I have an idea stop capless and sell 200gig for R300? The routers you guys sell... Let them be abled, to be used in wans like the west cape wireless group or a other wisp so that we are not locked in with you if you guys keep going like you did, then I will not mind having one! Self setup and free rental router pay as you router would be nice!

Just look at neohell, don't become like them!

Me wonders if v3g will now have to go through days in the office with a suit, collar and tie :D

That's a change hey :p

:) good move for iBurst, brave one for you
as a gesture of goodwill following your appointment i hereby declare peace with iBurst (which is no small thing)

I echo dominic's comments; brave move up the corporate ladder. Wishing you all the best and hope it's another step towards your personal goals!

Congratulations Jannie, and thanks for all the great help in the past!

brave move up the corporate ladder
More brave for taking the helm of a company largely built on a dead-end technology. Big shoulders needed to see it through the inevitable technology refresh required to remain competitive, while growing market share and maintaining margins/returns.

Congrats Jannie, Maybe you can fix some of the mistakes iburst have made, and create a new look for an iburst I wish I could work for. Are you moving to Joburg? And what about omnisol?

Congratulations V3G!!! All the best in your new position :)

Congradulations Jannie. I wonder if he will still be so into the automation business.

I didn't know Dial a Nerd was owned by the same people as IBurst. I thought it was a entrepreneurial business.

My first non-v3g post!

Firstly, thank you all for the support posted above! It's not a flippant statement to say I'm touched by the encouraging messages from you bunch. :) (And I know how tough you guys can be!)

We all know there are some challenges ahead, but obviously I believe there is a bright future ahead.

As I've posted in the VC forum, I'm traveling at the moment (typing this in an airport, 1am), so will give a more complete response on all the points raised above when I'm back next week.

Having said that, a few things are patently obvious; iBurst will be much more active on this forum and will solicit and provide feedback in the open and frank format I prefer. Shaun (Green) is already well known here, so I'll leave it up to him to crank it up a few notches. I, for sure, will be lurking.

Also, start posting the suggestions in the relevant forum. You guys have much more experience with the products I have and you feedback will be appreciated. Let's also hear those innovative ideas.

Clearly, it will take some time to implement some of the suggestions, but it will happen.

Chat soon.

Jannie

n00b alert!!! :p

That must be painful to give up so many posts! :D

Well done and best of luck! Best wishes to your family too!
