New iBurst Wireless pricing revealed

iBurst, MWeb, Telkom. Same bunch of thieves. The only reason they still in business is they have money to advertize and confuse consumer. R99 top ups. Are you crazy people? Monthly substriptions. Contracts. 64kbps. Is this a stone age? Wake up people and think for crying out loud. Dont let them bulls..t you.

Wow, you are one horribly confused puppy.

Monthly substriptions - Like every other service in the world?
Contracts - Month to month, whats wrong with that?
64kbps. It was as a bonus, and a nice one too - hit your cap on the 29th - at least you can do basic browsing (banking + email). No need to WASTE 1GB for 1 or 2 days.
Dont let them bulls..t you. - Ok, so then what? Just not have internet? iBurst is will be the cheapest you can get 2GB for.

----

We'll have to wait and see about the "bolt on" option on the 1st dec for sure. If it's for only 5GB and higher accounts, no-one will take it. If we can get it on the 1GB [or the 2GB] then it'll be cool.

Hit my cap in a couple of hours on the 1st of every month. Different strokes for different folks.

Jannie please comment on the throttled product. Will it only be available for 5gig and up?

Well that's your own fault for taking a dumbasss 40mb package.

I don't understand the pricing in the table. Why does it say that the old rate for data is R950 per gig? or is it just me?

I'm currently on the month-2-month 3G option (R449/month) - will the new bundle (5G at R445) automatically apply, or does one have to apply somewhere to change the subscription?

I think these prices apply only to the iBurst Wireless. 3G pricing is still pretty much controlled by the Mobile Networks.

didn't i burst say subscribers was going to be notified of this?

i have received no emails about this new pricing and what does one have to do if u dont want to change to one of the new packages...?

They will auto-migrate you but you keep the 64k throttle for 3 months. At the end you can decide if you wanna go back to the old package or stay on the new one.

Still no migration.

Still at old package, still R199/GB for boosters.

Yup, it's taking a while. Had to slow it down to do other month-end housekeeping but it is running. With tens of thousands of users, the time required does add up.

Ok, as long as it happens in the next week or 2.
I'm on a reseller's account. Will it still happen? Will you update their systems?
LOL

No Contact at Iburst

It would appear that this is the only forum where Iburst are responding to queries. Tried calling yesterday with limited luck, sat on hold forever.

Today, trying to follow up on my query, sat waiting on the line for someone from accounts to answer to no avail.

I guess iBurst are pretty busy at the moment fielding queries, but some increase in call centre staff may have alleviated this congestion. I would also recommend they implement a toll free number, that way the company has an incentive to get queries answered as quickly as possible and not keep people holding on the line, as they pick up the tab for keeping people on the line.

It will also allow iBurst to see the number of calls they are dropping in a day.

Poor customer service unfortunately.

Cheers

On top of everything else we're busy with (new products, new billing system, etc.), we are in the middle of moving the call center and this half/half situation is affecting the ability to answer calls. And will most likely for the next 2 weeks.

Those who have been keeping track will know are implementing a substantial number of changes and I made the call to do them all as quickly as possible instead of stringing them out over a longer period. Kinda face the pain once even if it is a bigger pain. That way we all can get through all the changes as quickly and hopefully have a normal (and better) life from the new year.
