That much faster than it was a while ago. You could add a naught to your values then. I am also getting approx those numbers now.

i have the 41 ip not the radius server that im connected to

the new ip ranges addressed the problem of new adsl users and therefore there are now new ip ranges that are dished out - i have a 41.x.x.x
Of course - duh! Brain seems to have taken the day off :D

Proactive? Proactive would be preventing the problem from happening in the first place so lets not go that far!

What a horrible weekend - bad bad bad latency on SAIX with the 41 ip - anyone else have a problem.
Telkom speed test says 233kbps d/load speed and that on a 512k line.

I have noticed that the IP address I am allocated in Cape Town (41.x.x.x) route to the US/EUROPE direct via SAT3 but routes back via Hong Kong adding 100 ms latency but the HTTP proxy IP (198.x.x.x) also routes back via SAT3.

With regards to those two hops not responding, those are routers which have been configured not to respond to ICMP echo requests. However, ICMP uses TTL to calculate hop counts and the TTL is incremented on the client side effectively still showing hop count but not giving a standard response and moving on to the next hop..this is configurable on the router.

I found that these new IP's seem to have been asigned to Mauritius before.
