New LTE AUP from September 2016

85 gb used already 4 September.
So about 20gb a day? Streaming with 1192mb (12gb) p2p torrenting

I think once someone has broken the 100gb mark they might makes changes or 150gb wanna find out if they gonna slow people after a certain amount of usage

Well seems all my traffic has been limited to 4M since the beginning of this month. Yes i received the SMS warnings and Yes i even received the email stating my usage is very high. And Finally yes by usage is very high!

But according to there AUP i should not be subjected to this kind of abuse.
The majority of my traffic is Backups/Dropbox/Owncloud and General IT tasks with a touch of Netflix/Showmax and additional streaming on top...
Im one of those users that used to download the internet but since this package there wasn't a need and in the period of over a year i had the product only twice hit my torrent limit where i used to do 300G on DSL.

I would estimate that i transfer in the region of 800G in a month but as i mentioned all legit as i work in the industry and often have to import say a VM into our clusters or transfer video that was completed from a webcast into our network. Bottom line im even willing to produce netflow statistics to justify my side...

Browsing is slow and this is simply not what i signed up for... I have kept quite even though by initial speeds was almost 60 and degraded to 10-20 at best over the months, but now this is simply not on.....

Wish a telkom rep would shed some light on this!

P2p usage puzzles me as only downloaded 2gbs and both stopped. Bit puzzled if it uploaded 9gb? Will monitor p2p. Using vuze.

Edit checked and uploaded nowhere near even 1gb. Somewhere telkom detecting p2p. Could it be game clips on youtube my kids watch being identified as p2p? Otherwise my connection being hijacked although no intruders detected during my checks via Fing

Do you play games such as Smite? It uses p2p, LoL and most blizzard games also use p2p to update. Windows has also started a p2p update option in W10, Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update > Choose how updates are delivered > either turn off or only on devices on the local network.

Thanks. Boys have all kinds of games. Xbox, win 10, android and these flash games via internet on desktop. Luckily wii long given away. I'll check Win 10. Could Steam be a culprit?

Depends on the game, some have their own launchers which use p2p. A lot of game developers use p2p as it eases strain on their server as players upload the update to other players. Not a nice thing to do, but if it's the first hour of patches, no server is going to cope and they use this to alleviate it. Usually there is an option to disable it.

I strongly suspect we are also been speed throttled now since the 1 Sep. Also got the SMS love letter in Aug and despite the fact that we don't use any of the P2P portion at all since every thing in our house is streamed this does account for high usage of around 250gig per month, since its adds up very quickly if 2 or more users are streaming at any time which is most often the case at night and tonight it is particularly bad almost to point of unusable. Been perfect though for the past 10 months!

How can they just slow you from the start of the month ? I thought you meant to use a lot then get slowed till the following month ?

This was August usage:
Hello! You have used 203 MB of your P2P FUP bundle.
Hello! You have used 212113 MB of your inclusive SmartBroadband Uncapped Wireless service.

So what is defined as abuse?

Not that I can determine. Youtube lagged sometimes ito not caching but has happened sometimes in the past. Speed about 16mbps so acceptable.

Thats a fair amount already and you still at full speed ?

Since this has kicked in my internet seems faster. I am pretty light on my usage though. I only stream and do general browsing.
I never got any email or sms about warnings on my usage.

17mbps speeds. While ok way below my norm of 30-40mbps.

So i have opened a case with telkom about speed being limited to 4Mb and behold i am now throttled to around 256-512k.
I have done almost nothing with the line since the 4m throttling beyond watching netflix for the day...

That is really harsh and is that will everything from browsing to downloads etc ? How much did you download though
