New Mandela Banknotes

How do you feel about the new Mandela bank notes?

2 - I really couldn't care.

I had no problems with the animals and thought it tied in nicely with our ''Big Five'' vibe going on, which I also think is a nice touch for tourists. But if they want to put Mandela's mug on it, meh.
 
Plenty of places have been caught with their pants down as their note validators don't accept the new notes... e.g. casinos, vending machines, etc.

Yes, the parking machine at Cavendish Square. The centre had a person there validating parking cards as the machine rejected the new note.

Fail of note, I hope that the banks habe updated the ATMs to accepts the new notes for deposits.

The new notes all have colour shifting ink. On the last series, only the R50, R100 and R200 notes had it.

Dreamking, the notes have all the security features of the old, and some new. They are in now way inferior than the old.

You clearly don't know what you are talking about, and you are just spewing out utter drivel.

Go do some research, and go do your (non-relevant) ANC bashing else wehere.

That is... until they find that the SABNC has missed some security features again (like when they forgot to add the UV ink to a bunch of R100 notes), then they will most likely move it back to the Swedish company again.

BUT, having said that... the Swedish company have also made their boo-boos and a whole bunch of R100 notes had to be shredded.... you can read about it all here...

Glad they are being printed in SA. Last I read the problem wasn't with the machines in SA, the staff just weren't using them properly.

You are correct....

The Bank needs to update and upgrade the security features of South African bank notes at least every seven years, to make the notes difficult to counterfeit. This is also an international standard.
The new security features include spark colour-changing ink, a clear image of Mandela as well as a watermark image of him, and embossed lines on the sides of the notes for the visually impaired.

The notes boast improved security features. These include raised print for the benefit of the partially sighted and blind, as well as visible movement in the cash when the note is tilted under a light.

There's fake money in every country in the world. open your eyes... I have some fakes of old money, but can't use it because the real money has distinct security features...
