New MTN prices announced

Lucky for me that my contract will expire next month...so I am FREE!:)

they like to complicate things
"1GB Data Plan : R85 ........ 1Gb monthly data : R160"
quite an increase? i just had one account renewed 2 months ago to share 3Gb between our MTN phones with data share R159pm for 3Gb
luckily i closed the other 2 accounts i still had

Fsuckn cuunts. How does everyone do it at the same time? The competition commission been disbanded?

Goes without saying, they have seen Voda and Cell C do it so they may as well join them.

At least they are more honest: they must be burning money on genset fuel and batteries.

they should update their website... latest / current catalogue still shows 'old' prices...
so you look at cataloge, decide on new contract, based on what u willing to spend...and next month... "surprise!"
still sucks that they can bind you to a 24mo contract, and then up the prices to hearts content. should really keep prices as at signing of contract for the duration of it.
i guess thats the punishment for going contract :)

Where are the old prices to compare against? Along with % increase per item?

+1

It really is a great time for my contracts to be maturing. Hi Ho, to prepaid I go!
Welcome to the club, mine expires next month too

Nevertheless, prices are going in the opposite direction, they should be going down. Especially now with parliament's debate's on broadband penetration...

No where to run prices going up on all fronts. But MTN took it too far with the prepaid increases. This will hurt them, no I wish it hurts them. Mother****ers.

We are on it - just difficult to find all the old rates...

Yup, on the MTN site they have different prices too. Under MyChoice they still show the myChoice 200 as R279 for example but the last price of it was R229 per month. You only see the new price under the "shop" section.

I'm going back to Cell C for my 50mb, that lasts a month to boot. I could live with R7 a week but R10 makes no sense with Cell C's offering.

well, I am forking out R20 more for two contracts (TopUp200 and MyChoice100)....methinks we are going to be slapped with annual increases from here on, unless the Consumer Commission tells the telecoms companies to go screw themselves...bt not holding my breath.
