OK, so despite my better judgement- I decide to bite the bullet and upgrade to ADSL unshaped to test it for one month.
9.30 am - call 0800 237 500. Explain my story - gentleman at the other end says "Yes, ADSL unshaped... hang on". He goes on to read what the product is about. I say "I know" - I'd like to upgrade please. "It will give you access to much more data and information", he says. "Would you like to order it?". "Erm.. yes, I'd like to upgrade my current ADSL account please, to the new unshaped option". He makes me hold for a minute. "Please call 0800 300 500, our pro-logue division, and they will activate it for you sir. It is not loaded onto our database yet". Oookaaaay.
10am Cup of coffee, think about it some more. Maybe that was the opportunity to bail. Eventually, dial 0800 300 500. Same story. Reads from leaflet. Tells me to to please call 0800 237 500. I just did that, I tell him. OK - he takes my cell number and promises to get someone to call me within the next 10-15 mins. He calls back after 10 mins and says "an ADSL" person will call me back. I should sit tight for the next few minutes. No phone call.
11.30am Call 0800 237 500 - and start all over. No problem - lady seems to know what I'm talking about, asks for my phone #, ID# etc, so that she can process the upgrade. Takes about 5 minutes. Then she says, ok all done. She simply needs to call the "Internet Department" to change one or two settings and we're good to go. Would I like to hold, or should she call me back? I'll hold. After 10mins of holding, she says she'll call me on my cell-phone or landline to confirm when it's done.
1.30pm Still no phone call. Call 0800 237 500 - ask them what the heck's happening. They ask for my order number. I don't have one, I say - all I have is a user-name. Bad sign - they don't sound to happy, and ask for my ADSL tel number instead... Mmmm - you were given the incorrect information, sir. We cannot do the upgrade from here. I make sure that we're talking about the same thing - unshaped ADSL as advertised on the web-site. Yep - we're all on the same page. I'm told to send an email to
[email protected] - to request the necessary forms.
I mean... wt**?? There's one looney gullible stoopid idiot silly enough to try this package for a month, and they make it impossible to upgrade. I give up
