"A complex saga of humans scattered on planets throughout the galaxy all living under the rule of the Galactic Empire."

IMDB
Trailer:

Based on the books by Isaac Asimov (Writer, professor of biochemistry), considered one of the "Big Three" science fiction writers during his lifetime. Asimov's most famous work is the Foundation series, the first three books of which won the one-time Hugo Award for "Best All-Time Series" in 1966. His other major series are the Galactic Empire series and the Robot (I Robot) series.

First two episodes dropped last night (AppleTV) - watched them this morning - great so far!

Was a big fan of Asimov's books growing up so have been looking forward to this. Science fiction written by a real scientist!

So far so good.. it’s a bit tricky with setups and jumps In timeline so hopefully they pay off for it in the next episode or two.. but yah.. bit of a jarring storytelling if you ask me where there is little to no development for a character to go from doing one thing then do something else next..

Hoping it unfolds and makes sense in the coming episodes.

Started this last night... never read the books so dove into the series. Enjoying the setup so far, hoping for more character and story development. It has great potential

I was really excited for this. It was really disappointing to see political agenda ruining the masterpieces written by Asimov.

I see the lead actress is part Zimbabwean, wondered where her accent was from.

It was a slow burn, but I enjoyed it.

I read the books when I was a teenager, can't remember much about them.

Started last night, wasn't sure I would enjoy it but ended up watching the first 2 episodes and it had me engaged the entire time which is pretty great considering the episodes are long.

Not familiar with the source material so not worrying about getting disappointed with the adaptation, although I generally try to separate books and visual media and judge them on their own merits so I don't feel one has to live up to the other.

4 episodes in and it starting to make some plot happen but very slow.. next episode better be insanely good. The end promises it will be but who knows.. let’s hope they don’t do a major time jump

So far so good with this...

Yes it deviates from the book quite substantially but its still telling a good story, and the visuals are epic.

I should have waited until all the episodes were out and binged it. At least I have a show to look forward to every week.

Finished Episode 5 and I am hooked...
Ending of 5 was good. Been a slow start to the series, but am starting to get in to it now. Don't remember much from the books - and it took a while to figure out Gale is Gaal (male from the book), but that's not too surprising. Asimov became known for his misogyny in his later years, so there were few leading female characters - which is needed for balance in a modern series.

Looking forward to ep 6 now :)

It’s going so slow.. I started scouring YouTube to figure out where it’s all going but can’t really as there is also multi year stories along with the person specific ones.

I dunno.. it’s just slow. I wonder if watching and waiting a week is making it feel slower as most series we watch are over a few days (series season binge)
