That will work.
Whats your total build coming to?
Also thinking of something like this
No idea as I'm not building anything, you'll have to ask the OP.
@weelzsa
That will work.
Dunno what \ how many ports you're looking for - below looks good to me.

R999.00, save R200.0
4 x SATA3 6.0 Gb/s Connectors, support NCQ, AHCI and Hot Plug
2 x SATA2 3.0 Gb/s Connectors, support NCQ, AHCI and Hot Plug
1 x PCI Express 3.0 x16 Slot (PCIE2: x16 mode)
5 x PCI Express 2.0 x1 Slots
Will it work with the 4590 i5 Haswell too without any BIOS updates etc?

According to that yes, it works with all bios versions the board shipped with.
Perfect. I think I will go with that one then. The price seems really good. I see there are others but for my need I think this one will work - even if maybe I decide to start gaming on this PC?
I know the i5 from PotterH is the same price as the i3 but I will still need to pay for shipping and buy a CPU cooler and that then pushes the price over R2300 and not sure if the price difference is worth it especially for my needs.
Are you buying a gold plated cooler? Just ask around here or carb for a stock i5 intel cooler. The cooler & shipping should not be more than R200 so your cpu should come to no more than R1800.
Get the superflower psu![]()

OK great thanks. Going to see if I can still get the i5 from PotterH then as I am sure there will be a big difference in performance between the i3 and i5.
Does the superflow pus have enough power connectors for up to 6 drives? I currently only have 4 but might add more drives at a later stage.
Is that case OK? I still prefer the smaller ones but they suffer with limited space for add-ons.
4x sata, 3x molex so with molex-sata adapters you can have 7 drives. If you want more connectors I think you will have to go for a bigger psu. If you are gonna fill the case with drives maybe go with a 600W PSU should you think about getting a GPU in future (this also depends on the type of gpu though as their power requirements vary)
Not sure about the case, keep in mind that you only have 290mm avalable for a gpu with all the hdd cages installed, 400mm with the top hdd cage removed. Your 2x fan gpu's will usually fit within 290mm but not the 3x fan versions.
See there's already an offer for a free cpu cooler![]()
Yeah the CPU looks sorted, just need to arrange shipping but working on that.
Haha all that talk of 290mm and 400mm went right over my head :wtf: - along as everything will fit and work I am happy.
lenght of a gpu, the case from the back to the hdd cage distance dictates how long a gpu you can fit in there. If you remove the upper hdd cage you can fit longer than 290mm cards.
On a side note; I see PotterH is also selling i5 4570 for R500 less than the i5 4590. My question is there a huge difference between the two to make up for the R500 price difference or should I rather save the R500 and go for the 4570?
