News Client Recommendations ?

Huh??

Thats its benefit. Put it on a server/ htpc on your network and axxess it from anywhere on your LAN, or with the correct port forwarding from anywhere on the internet. One click nzb downloading and queing with nzbdstatus firefox plugin. iPhone app or phone browser to controll sabnzbd. As mentioned rss feeds etc. Once correctly setup its like TIVO for the internet.

I just find that alt binz works a lot better and feels more integrated and efficient and it also shows me the speed accurately for each file that I'm downloading.

thinking of changing from alt.binz to either sickbeard or sanzbd, what do you guys recommend?

SABNzbd + Sickbeard FTW!

please tell me you know how to set up sickbeard, can it be set up with NZBSA

Nope - it only works with certain nzb sites.

If you join the forum you can request other sites to be added, or some guys might help you out with the python code for extra sites.

SAB is a automatic system.

With altbinz/grabit etc you download the NZB file, pull it into altbinz and it downloads your stuff.

With SAB its more automated. It can use it like altbinz, or you can do extra special things like setup RSS feeds. So for example i have a RSS feed setup to my fav NZB site and in the filters I have something like my.fav.tv.series.S01.*.xvid

Then when my.fav.tv.series.S01.e02.xvid is posted on the nzb site, SAB goes and automatically grabs the nzb file from the site and then downloads the content via your nnntp provider. No more manually downloading - you wake up and your stuff is all downloaded :)

You can even get a lot more fancier and use SickBeard in conjunction with SAB to auto sort, find missing episodes, auto download missing episodes, grab thumbnails etc etc etc

Most of the supported nzb sites in SAB are now unfortunately not free anymore. But they're fairly cheap to subscribe to.

And then I discovered SABnzbd - its more of a automated program - you can set it up to monitor rss feeds and it auto grabs the nzb and start downloading. Got web interface where you can upload/check the status of your downloads.

AND - there's an android app (NZBAir) where you can search various NZB sites and submit them to SABNZB at home....

It also works with CouchPotato and Sickbeard...

Yes.. I have certain Series downloading in SD - they go to a specific folder... I then have other series in Hd, they go to a specific folder, same for movies and audio.

It does everything! I'm sure the next release will make coffee for you as well! :)
