Now the iPhone is an outstanding product. It may even be better than any single Android phone. However, I would still never buy one, because of the ecosystem.
The "Apple ecosystem" is actually what makes the whole experience of owning an iPhone so good....
I have the whole ecosystem - iMac, MacMini, MacBook Pro, iPad, iPhone. A few weeks ago I bought a new Samsung S3 to see what the fuss was all about. Yes, there is a lot to love about the S3...nice big screen, a few neat features that Android uses, changeable battery etc. But it is DAMN frustrating with the S3 not being in my "ecosystem".
With the Apple ecosystem, everything is done so seamlessly - I get emails confirming air flights....I just click on the date in the email, and it adds my flight details to my calendar....which then wirelessly updates all my other devices. So all I do is arrive at the airport with my iPhone and all the flight details are already on there. I buy a song off iTunes store, and it automatically gets onto all my other devices. These are just examples
To realise the benefits of being in the Apple ecosystem, you really need to be in it first to realise how well the system works.
I love my new Samsung S3, but because of the above explanation, I don't see myself using it as my main phone. I am still using my old iPhone 4 as my main phone
