Nihilum quits WoW

Its still a grind, one I dont want to have to do again. Regardless of if its been made easier or not, Its not easy to give up friends just to raid. This is what has killed many guilds in this game already, the fact that they HAVE TO RAID.. more than play with friends.

WoW has seemed to have changed the mentallity of the gamers, or maybe pulled in a whole new breed , One that believes farming to death and running around in a hamster wheel to be the best is what gaming is all about, It hard to find anyone who understands what loyalty is anymore.

Maybe its also the fact that its no longer an exclusive thing anymore and every tom, d1ck, and harry, with his gangster rapping crew from the bronks to boxburg all have laptops and broadband connections?

(From the all the "leet speak" going on in a RPG type game, I'm leaning towards the fact that the CS Clan bunnies have all joined WoW )

Sadly the grind in WOW is what makes it soo popular, since its the Warcraft Universe... blizzard have made it as big as possible (eg expansions of new huge areas)

I personally hate the farming side... grind X amount of lvl 71 mobs for a 4% drop rate really sucks

This is what has killed many guilds in this game already, the fact that they HAVE TO RAID

This is what endgame as become... PVE or PVP, Blizzard are both making entry into either side of the game easier, yet struggling to satisfy the hardcores

Dont forget the very important part about playing with friends :) Thats what gaming was... to me at least, A break away from reality into a world where I could be with people who enjoyed my company as much as I enjoyed theirs, Striving to be the best together. That together part no longer exists, because if X guild next door can get you there 1 day quicker.. Bye bye, they are GONE.

What classifies a Hardcore player now a days anyway? Somebody who raids everynight, Somebody who PVP's every night, Somebody who farms gold/herbs/food everyday so his guild can raid every night??? Or.... what else?

Imo a hardcore player is someone who dedicates alot more time than a normal player (casual?) in X area of X field, hardcore raiders are as described to have no lives because they spend hours and hours working towards achieving worlds first or w/e... Yes Kalvaer, raiding everynight is pretty much a sign of a hardcore raider

Take a look at the top guilds recruitment... Nihilum, Vis Maior, Last Resort, SK Gaming, Forte, Method etc (those are few of the more recognised EU raiding guilds)
