No International?

TIME: 2 Feb 2010 9:15:28 AM

ADDITIONAL: There is a major power failure in Abidjan Nigeria affecting all the SAT-3 Links. Only internal circuits are being affected and is related to the completed maintenance Telkom was carrying out on the SAT-3.

TIME: 2 Feb 2010 9:47:51 AM

ADDITIONAL: MTN Business has rerouted all SAT-3 traffic via Seacom STM4.

We will however experience degraded performance as the link is fully utilized. Telkom will commence restoration of the SAT3 circuits at 09:50AM

Doens anyone know if this also affects MTN and vodacom 3g ?

I am with AfriHost - connecting to a DSLAM in Margate.
I am unable to see international - or it's intermittent.

What confuses me is that I thought AfriHost's ADSL was seacom based.

Seacom

the SAT3 being down should not have affected anyone connecting via Seacom but now we know it was all a myth and Helkom still controls our minds :D

vodacom 3g is down for me internationally in dewaterkant cape town

Afrihost has never stated that their bandwidth was seacom based. For the record, Afrihost do not run or control their own ADSL network. They resell IS bandwidth. Any issues you might have with an Afrihost ADSL account is ultimately Internet Solution's problem.

Ok.. surfing is intermittent (excuse spelling).

Now facebook down..... sigh....

You only need to make excuses for your spelling if you made a spelling mistake. :p
