I use an MTN broadband connection which uses Mobile Partner software and Huawei technologies. It connects in Mobile Partner and everything is configured. I have network access but no internet access. Please tell me what the issue is and what I should do.

Are you posting from a different PC? Have you tried the card on a different PC and does it work? It could be a number of things so you need to do various basic tests to help pinpoint where the issue lies or provide more details.

One thing you could double check - in Internet Explorer, Tools/Internet Options/LAN Settings and make sure only "automatically detect settings" is ticked. The rest must be off. Then after applying settings completely close and reopen all browser windows.

Are you using a 3G card from your company? Are you connecting via corporate APN?

If so, it could be that you can connect to the company network, but they have blocked you from having internet access.

Yes I have tried all of the above. I am using a personal 3G card which my mother purchased for me via contract.

I tried using it on another computer and even the internet explorer settings that you have mentioned but that is not working either. The bars on the taskbar show connection as well as on the mobile partner screen. When I move the mouse cursor onto the bars on the taskbar it says no internet access.

I tried diagnosing the connection and the diagnosis tells me that the DNS is not responding

What happens if you press "Connect" button on the Mobile Partner main screen? The button is in the centre, the right to the profile selection field.

I already did that and it shows connectivity. The connection status at the bottom is green and it even shows that it is able to upload and download by showing me the speeds.

It could be a network problem with DNS server. You can try other DNS servers, typical SAIX 8.8.8.8 (?). To do this you need to disconnect and edit your TCP/IP settings. or wait, till network is fixed in your area. Test your connection with ping command to the known WEB site.

I know, it is why I should tell you to move this post to MTN forum, maybe someone from MTN can assist you.

Another thought. To not go to the technical details, maybe the easiest way to determine problem is to get prepaid SIM card from other network like Vodacom and Cell-C (usually R0.99) and small recharge.
Edit: do you have any airtime or data bundle loaded on yor SIM card?
