No Man's Sky

This game is gonna fizzle away within a month or two of release.

I would rather spend money on something like Infinity: Battlescape.

another game that doesn't exist

Agreed - and another game that has almost nothing in common with NMS other than being classified as a space sim. Don't get me wrong, it looks like it could have potential.. would I replace or delay my purchase of NMS for it. Lol not af

My only issue with No Man’s Sky is the grinding, the mining aspect.

I liked Elite: Dangerous, but it took the developers too long to add that what was missing to the game, they also had the cheek to bring out the Horizons DLC with an unwanted price tag, and only now patched the game where it has been demanded. Too late, the game has been buried.

Then there is Star Citizen… Cloud Imperium Games should never ever state a release date, Squadron 42 has been postponed so many times now, and again recently, that there are things which has been avoided in Around the Verse… which raises many questions as to when the actual game, not Squadron 42, ever will be released, 2019, 2020, 2021, when, never?

Currently, the only space sim will be No Man’s Sky. It is not the reviews which will make or break the game, but how the continuity will be experienced by the players.

I also expected Eve: Valkyrie to be something more…

So it seems if you give TakeAlot 2 months lead time to get the game on launch day, its not enough time... So launch day for me will be Friday the same as the PC guys. Ah well, going to enjoy trying the the demon hunter on WoW tonight instead :P

Read it the reddit thread this morning. So that means no actual multiplayer.

I wished that Subnautica had more than single-player so I’m in the same opinion with No Man’s Sky, it must be lonely out there…

To quote Sean Murray,

To be super clear - No Man's Sky is not a multiplayer game. Please don't go in looking for that experience.

The chances of two players ever crossing paths in a universe this large is pretty much zero.

Yet it happened on day 1.

This is me, many other people will probably love the game. Just cannot do 'arcady' games, especially survival-orientated ones.

Subnautica with coop would be incredible! Back on topic though, NMS was always touted as a SP game but with some MP elements such as naming planets or maybe bumping into the same person (which is not the case right now). But this game holds huge promise and opportunity to become something amazing. We're on day 2. I'm looking forward to what it will look like a year down the track. Especially with the base building and freighter update coming up. There is just so much that Sean and the boys can do creatively. We're only touching the surface of possibility right now.

Dead link.

Site update:

So the surge of traffic brought some crybabies into the mix, and the site is quite literally under attack now. If you did not read the No Man's Sky review, you can read a cached version here - http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...//www.thejimquisition.com/no-mans-sky-review/

Feel free to check it out there. Since I have no ads on the site, traffic literally does not matter to me. I only care that the stuff I write gets read. What an absolutely pointless tantrum of an attack.

Review is still readable and I've not been hurt by this save for the two seconds it took to notify people who aren't me so they can work on fixing the problem.

In the meantime, I'm just going to laugh my head off at the idea some people got *this* mad over saying No Man's Sky wasn't interesting.

If the comment sections of the review sites is anything to go by, lack of real multiplayer may actually be a good thing.
