I disagree. All my previous phones had glass screen protectors and none of them cracked (then again, I'm careful and don't drop my phones). They're more fragile than your phone's screen by design so that they absorb most of the impact instead of your phone.

There are glass protectors that are curved and can cover a screen end to end however I've yet to come across one that's durable though (in terms of sticking to the screen).

I very seldon drop my phone, but **** happens, my glass protectors broke as a result of fly farts not fallen phones. You are literally the first person I've heard of having a positive exp with a glass protector.

****, I dropped a phone from a moving motorbike and the screen was fine. That phones like 4 or 5 years old now and still going strong and it had no protector of any kind.

My Sirocco fell from my bed the other night and when I woke up my screen was shattered, i had no idea what to do and buying a new one was not an option, I went to MTN and checked out their deals, since I am still very satisfied with my Sirocco and my contract has another year, I got a replacement on a new contract, they are going for R199 pm on made for me xs.

I've ordered mine with MTN. What's the easiest not too expensive screen protector to get

I found that you can either have a screen protector or a back cover, not both, I had one from takealot, a "sixt" but because of the curve screen it pressed up against the back cover, the volume rocker and power bottons became almost impossible to use as well as edges of the touch screen. The screen protector worked well on its own

You mean you don't have insurance for your phone? I would never be that brave.

Cheapest we got was R3000 for a good quality screen, not sure if original but compared it to the original and couldn't spot a difference in quality or brightness

I have not claimed for a phone in like 8 tlyears, still not that brave. My last claim was literally 3 days after I added it to my insurance.
 
In that case, anyone interested in a Nokia 8 Sirocco with cracked screen, working condition, R1000. No other damage or marks other than screen. Box, charger and cable included. Phone is one year old
 
I just got my 8 sirocco today so far really enjoying it .need to get a screen protector
 
I'm tempted to go for this phone to replace iPhone 6S, either his or Redmi Note 7 128gb which has bigger screen but slower processor.
