Nokia 8 Sirocco

:(

Is the stock keyboard smaller?
Gboard is the stock keyboard and it's marginally smaller, but SwiftKey still is better, giving the option is still stick with the slightly bigger one just because feature wise we would be comparing a pc keyboard to a hammer and chisel.

I see.

Is this problem only affecting people on Pie using this particular phone? My other Pie devices are behaving fine with SwiftKey...

From what I have read on other forums/threads, it is neither unique to pie or Nokia, there is a running thread on SwiftKey from 2017 already with this issue having cropped up then already.

From what I can gather is its something to do with how dpi is handled and it was previously fixed by SwiftKey, but renewed complaints are getting no response.
Having never actually used gboard, I cannot say weather or not its always been that big, it has limited size adjustments.

I can say that on my flashed Redmi 3, they keyboards are much smaller, albeit slightly bigger than they used to be, but that is a spare phone so that again could be a dpi thing and I don't use it enough to care to look.

I suspect previous issues on swift may be unique to them, but this time round I suspect seeing as other keyboards appear affected, its likely a driver/display issue that's more easily rectified on devices with more display controls. So not really sure who is responsible for fixing it, but kinda gotten used to the large keyboard by now.

Still enjoying mine, struggling to find a decent screen protector though. Been through 4 already. They just don't stick properly especially in the centre.

I recently put a 3sixt screen protector on my Nokia 8 and it fell today, I now see the screen is cracked, does Nokia do a free screen replacement?

Loom insurance. R100 @R8000 with 15% excess.
Dropped mine a month after receiving it, insurance paid out the day after the claim.
Too late now though

I also have a 3sixt screen protector. In my case it is a tempered glass screen protector - the screen protector cracked, but I think the screen is still fine.

Installed, the keyboard vibration has changed slightly, I like, it's now the same as my other custom pie devices.
