Nokia N95 @ Vodacom??

The problem is that most of these guys work at these cellphone shops just because they have to and not because they have a passion for cellphones and technology.

That's why I would be a great sales person at a cellphone shop. ;)

Ok i called them and it seems they where lying just have to wait for delivery now damn..
 
:rolleyes: I picked up my N95 surprisingly the first week of April from Italk Durban. Im on Mycall 100 so had to pay in R3800 once off at the time cos they had to work out a price for me as it wasnt even on their price list. I didnt mind paying this as I could walk outtta da store the same day with the handset which I did.I couldnt go directly with MTN where they had the R999 once off cos i was still in my 23rd month and couldnt wait another month to get my hand on this powerhouse of a phone, also due to the fact that I knew the N95 would sell fast and I didnt wana miss out and wait.

By the way Italk had the N95 available before MTN itself, even though Italk is an MTN spinoff.

For all you people put there who think they are going to get this phone free,you are in for a long wait, as it wasnt free on ANY of the packages at the time, business packages included.

Even the N93 has a once off on most of the packages so that should say something. Of course it will be free at some point in time,but in my month you at least have to wait for about half a year at least. By that time the next flagship phones would be out and the N95 will retail much cheaper.

For all out there who have the cash but are in two minds for parting with your cash, dont.I have been tracking this phone from October last year so you could well understand what its like... its like a dream come true........

Im not sure bout prices on Vodacom as I have'nt been keeping track on their packages......

AGH Man!!! 4U shops are not Vodashops!! They different and even different owners, but its ok. Check out the Vodashops prices.

:rolleyes: Well JK8 you are correct that it will be free very soon but how soon is soon.... 3 months... 6 months....... I know people are gonna say it was a similar story with the N80 when it first appeared.. pricey as hell.....

But thats the thing, if you are willing and pateient to wait,then it will be free. Its just that if you by that time there will be better phones out that will make the N95 look like a 3310.......

I gues it all depends on your perception of how/when u choose to upgrade....

But seriously, i dont think its gona be free anytime soon but for everyone here, lets hope that it is......
 
I found imported N95s @ R4000 for sale at gumtree.co.za, and another posting on the same page of a person complaining that Vodacom and RF Group had threatened him and confiscated his localy purchased, but imported phone. Sounds very unlikely to me - RF Group closed down AFAIK. Also, to my knowledge grey imports are not illegal...if true, I think Vodacom or whoever confiscated the phone acted illegally. Comments?

when i inserted my sim card, it worked at first, and then i was phoned by vodacom to tell me that they could not support my phone on their network.

they then reported me to RF Group (official Nokia importers in SA).

Rf Group wanted to take me to court, and fine me.

i was able to avoid the consequences by handing my phone in to them.

ultimately, i lost R3500.

just want to warn others.

email me if u want the details of the person who sold it to me.

Please Beware. and rather buy a phone from south africa, that is legal.

Lol false!!! You can buy a phone anywhere!!! Like Voda cares, they just need their sim in any phone and they happy!

Couldnt they have done better? Im sure Metro will have it cheaper.

:rolleyes: That is an awesome birthday deal + you get 2 free tickets.... much better than MTN's once off R999 and approx R320 pm.
But still not free though even though its Voda's birthday and alot of people were hoping that Vodacom will give away these phones free on their birthday.But i think the above deal is the closest thing to free that we gona have for a while..... I think Voda has offered an awesome deal.... lets see what MTN has up their sleeve to counter this...........
 
The only thing i would've really liked would be a colour vodacom operator logo... they customised everything but something i'd actually use!

Anyone have a work around perhaps?
