Nokia N97

The latest MTN pricelist (released yeasterday) states R489pm x24 on a AT350 contract. The E75 is R399pm on the same package. R359pm for the N97 is a very good deal, but it's not indicated as such on the MTN pricelist.

Yup, thats the price i got. There is a thread on here about MTN specials with a link to a pdf with the R489pm price

adamr, if that R359 is without any pay-in on the AT200 contract then MTN's officially released catalogue is not very helpful. One would assume MTN will advertise the lowest package on offer without pay-in, but it seems they're - for some strange reason - not doing so.
 
At R359pm with zero pay-in the N97 - with its flaws - is a good choice. The HTC TP2 goes for R599pm ... way more.

Yup, thats what i was paying for my N95 8Gb more then a year ago.
 
... but at R489pm I do care what others say as I'm into serious contenders then.
 
Can any of the N97 users tell me if the voice recorder records for longer than a hour?

s60 3rd users will prob know what i'm talking about

I am sure there are plenty free 3rd party apps which would allow you to record for longer
 
ya for those who are willing to hack their mobiles, the world is literally ur oyster ... problem is, i dont know if these latest phones can be hacked as yet due to more stringent firmwares blocking access to the private folders ....
 
Call Quality

Ok...Did the update of phone software and it makes quite a difference, so far no lockups and the interface is much more responsive.

I do have one issue though (and this could just be in the area Im in)...I get random "ticking" in the earpiece during a call. It was a weakish signal. Just wanted to hear if any other N97 user are getting this.

Plus point!....Love the GPS, seems to be able to track many more satelites than the N95.....on GPS DATA I had 12 satelites up and it seemed to display that it could track 32!
 
Can anyone please tell me what box contents they received with their N97 from MTN?

You dont need to hack your phone to install a lot of these 3rd party apps.

If you get 1 year free navigation with Nokia Maps, what do you do after 1 year if you don't purchase?

Does the GPS or Nokia Maps stop working?
