Noopept. I've never tried it so can't really comment much. I'd probably start with a 'racetam (aniracetam) or CILTEP for a basic nootropic 'stack', though I'm not really that into it these days. I've still got CILTEP ingredients & Piracetam that I stopped using. I'm hoping Higher Self start to stock a whole lot more as I'd like a few more natural compounds & herbs rather than straight up pharmaceutical nootropics.

Sufficient for what purpose?

For what? I'm only asking because people take these substances for a variety of reasons, and 'cognitive enhancement' is quite a broad term. Some nootropics like Aniracetam are also quite effective anxiolytics so you'll probably get quite an immediate effect from it (assuming you respond well to it). Some noots are quite noticeable in their ability to affect one's ability to speak better or to recall just-read information better. Phenibut gives very noticeable short-term 'I feel awesome' results, but not something you want to take long-term - depends what you're after.

Gauging a noots effect on learning, long-term memory, recall etc. is a tricky one and you'd need some (objective) way of gauging your improvement. Possibly by doing various online brain tests (cambridge, dual-n-back, luminosity etc.), establishing your score across the board, then re-doing those tests a few months later.

A small company in Johannesburg just open and is starting to bring nootropics into South Africa.

They currently only have Noopept in stock but delivery is fast and cheap and they diliver around the country.

What exactly is the problem? Far as I can tell alphanootropics are the importers / manufacturers and are based in JHB, while Higherself is the retail / promo side of things and based in CPT. Like I said - I got my order the same day in CPT. So maybe consider that your sleuthing hasn't really uncovered anything that warrants you standing there waving your red flag all over the place.

Great conspiracy theory you got there.
Since when can't two independent companies stock and distribute the same product?
If you look closer they both have stock of two of the same items each from the other party.

Absolutely nothing wrong other than your obscene accusation.
 
Just a reminder that company representatives must register with admin (rpm, etc) else self promotion will be viewed as spam.

Dude... exactly how many shots are you going to blow into your own foot? You don't even have a leg to stand on any more. This was the dumbest way to market a company (If it was legitimate). You have succeeded in making it seem very suspicious and fake...

Yeah its spam... delete it. My interest in Nootropics has also faded now.
 
Bottle of liquid noopept to give away if anybody is interested. Only used a few drops, no longer want it. It's the same one that's on upgradedself. Preferably in Cape Town so I can just drop it in the post or you can collect. Send me a pm if interested.

Hey guys

In attempt to alleviate some pretty strong ADD symptoms, general anxiety and just general brain hacking, my interest in nootropics has peaked the last few months!
Glad to see their are some fellow nootroponauts here in SA.

I checked out higherself.co.za- it links to upgraded self and it seems they have a few products... im likely going to order their Uridine or CDP choline to try out. seem like super interesting compounds - especially in the sphere of dopamine regulation.

ANyway - I was wondering... im really keen to get some racetams... It seems only noopept is avail in South AFrica - i got some, and im not sure if i like it... its weird. a little strong and psychoactive for me.. feels like ive ingested something that should be illegal :P

Are any of the -racetams available in South Africa? I know they probably controlled - but i reckon i could get a script quite easily - given that i am diagnosed with ADD and i can recommend it as an alternative to ritalin/concerta to try out.

With a prescription you can get Piracetam at most pharmacies, sold under the brand name Nootropil. They also stock Modafinil (Provigil) but I'm not sure that's what you're after right now:).

Hmm im going to see the doc tomorrow and see if i can get a prescription for Modafinil!

BTW - i have ordered Oxiracetam and CDP Choline from the "Upgraded Self" website... interesting effects, SUPER subtle tho, but definate energy boost from Oxiracetam

Otherwise - has anyone ever thought of ordering Modafinil into SA?
 
Remember the half-life of R-Modafinil is 15h. It can totally screw up your sleep cycle, even at 50mg, even though you may not notice it the first day or 2.

Currently testing low dose Piracetam, some days with Centrophenoxine. Higher doses makes me hypomaniac. I also got a bacterial sinus infection after higher doses, first thought it coincidence, but it seems that acetylcholine have an effect on parts of the immune system. It may be good or bad, depending on when and where it happens. I guess a suppressed T cell response is not good if there is an infection to fight, but may be good for suppressing inflammation. Will have to do more research on it.

I find 50mg twice a day is perfect for wakefulness, especially in alleviating jetlag. At that dose I don't actually feel the drug, it's just that there's no tiredness. At higher doses I start to notice too great a shift and it's obvious I've taken something. That said - it's definitely not something I'd consider using more than sporadically a few times a year when absolutely necessary.

Also - finally managed to get some Coluracetam:

Was curious about it's effect on stress / anxiety. It's not something I suffer from to any large degree, but it's interesting taking something that allows me to not get caught up in the things that go wrong during the day, and I'm much more likely to focus on positive solutions that re-iterate what's wrong with something. I'm taking it a day on / day off, with just under half a dropper. Not sure if I'll continue with it, but interesting nonetheless.

Also - in the interests of having continued access to a local supplier of nootropics, I'd like again to recommend upgradedself.co.za.

Customs have killed almost all chance of importing things like this and having a local store means being able to try stuff that would otherwise be a tedious process to get hold of. I am not affiliated with upgradedself in any way - I would just like to see them do well so that their range can grow and we can continue to have access to these drugs. Their delivery times are excellent and I'm sure if there's anything you'd like them to stock they'd be happy to take suggestions. The more people show an interest - the more likely they are to stock it.

Now to get them to stock Modafinil :p.

Purchased some Theanine but still en-route.

Gonna try all of the lower end ones first.
