Note 4 or iPhone 6 Plus??

I can't imagine you'd be unhappy with either choice, tbh. Best is to go into a shop and try them both out for some time before committing to one.

Mmmm, that's what I'm saying. I played around with the iPhone 6 Plus and I didn't like the OS. So I'm not getting it.

That's why I asked if anyone can recommend anything else.

Shouldn't your thread title read note 4 or what other android?

If you're going for a phablet, go for the Note 4. With Bendgate and all, it's probably reason enough to avoid the iPhone 6 Plus (bending the regular iPhone 6 takes some doing, apparently).

Seen quite a few posts on this forum about Android users moving to the 6 Plus.

Oh dear.

Then I would've opened this thread in the Android forum.

I did it here to see if someone can convince me to take the iPhone.

Nah, stick with what you enjoy, are familiar with and have invested in re apps etc

I really don't believe either brand/OS has a significant advantage over the other for someone who has spent years with a particular brand/OS to move. My 2c...

EDIT: If I recall you also a chap who gets bored quick. At least with Android you can refresh every so often.

The Note Upgrade is not big enough to validate a switch as you said so yourself...

The Iphone is Awesome and There are some big improvements in IOS 8 but the Apple Platform only truely shines when you have multiple apple devices

I have the iPhone 5s, Ipad 2, Retina MBP and the ease of use between them with all the newly released features like handoff and continuity make Shine as a platform however if its just the phone and nothing else... I Dont think either phone is going to give you much of a Wow factor in new features... I mean the NFC payments will land in SA only like 2-4 years down the line so that means nothing

I would say wait... what ever the next lineup will be it will be worth the 6-12 month wait... on both platforms...

On a last note... The Galaxy note 4 will only get Android Lolipop in a few months, Sony is the Only Phone refering to the Z series here that will update their range on release of Lolipop and any Google Nexus or Play devices...

So Wait... its not worth it right now

I will say this with fear and trepidation because of the backlash I am anticipating.

If you really want something different, really, the way to go is the Lumia 1520.

The only real issue with Lumia IMO is the apps, which to me is really not a factor.

I consider myself a poweruser and I've got enough use on my Lumia that I feel I'm getting addicted. Really, apps are overrated and bad for your mental health.

So, "#Switch to Lumia" for your own sanity and to stand out from the crowd. :D

Doesn't Jessica Alba also use one?

I currently use the Note 3 since October 2013. I'm still very happy with it.

I can upgrade on the 1st of November buy the question is what to get?

I've played a bit with the Note4 and iPhone 6 Plus. Both phones looks awesome.

OS wise I don't think the iPhone is what I want and the few changes to the Note4 coming from a Note3 is not enough for me say I should get it.

I really need help on this one. Should I get something else instead? And if yes, what?

How much is your contract each month? You mentioned that you upgrade every 6months and i think the note 3 is still a decent phone. Would you consider getting an iphone and selling it if you made a profit? The iphones are in demand and you might make a profit of your 6 month window
