Note 4 or iPhone 6 Plus??

How much is your contract each month? You mentioned that you upgrade every 6months and i think the note 3 is still a decent phone. Would you consider getting an iphone and selling it if you made a profit? The iphones are in demand and you might make a profit of your 6 month window

Depends on how much you want to pay for a iPhone.

6 or 6 Plus?

I had a look at the 6 and 6+ this weekend. I love the designs of both phones. I wish that apple upgraded the resolution of the iPhone 6 though. While the 6+ looks decent with a 1080p display, the smaller iPhone6 doesn't look as sharp as I would have liked it to be for that price.

The Note 4 has an amazing screen and looks quite solid. The design is really nice on this model (I like the black version). But I guess its best to play around with both devices in store. I'm glad that many stores have these devices on display now days so customers can have a look at the functions before getting them.

I currently use the Note 3 since October 2013. I'm still very happy with it.

I can upgrade on the 1st of November buy the question is what to get?

I've played a bit with the Note4 and iPhone 6 Plus. Both phones looks awesome.

OS wise I don't think the iPhone is what I want and the few changes to the Note4 coming from a Note3 is not enough for me say I should get it.

I really need help on this one. Should I get something else instead? And if yes, what?

I switched from Android to iOS a while back and regretted it . I find iOS a bit too closed off for my liking . I've also got an Android tablet and bought quite a few apps , so I'm sort of locked into the Google ecosystem.

I think it depends how tech orientated you are and how much you like to fiddle . On my phone I have a custom home screen , keyboard and messaging app . If you left everything on your Note 3 stock and don't use widgets that much then iPhone might be suitable.

Also depends how much you like iTunes . Android has a file system that you can just copy and past content into , iOS forces you to use iTune to copy content . In my mind another deal breaker.

At least the iOS keyboard doesn't botch one's punctuation. :p

I will say this with fear and trepidation because of the backlash I am anticipating.

If you really want something different, really, the way to go is the Lumia 1520.

The only real issue with Lumia IMO is the apps, which to me is really not a factor.

I consider myself a poweruser and I've got enough use on my Lumia that I feel I'm getting addicted. Really, apps are overrated and bad for your mental health.

So, "#Switch to Lumia" for your own sanity and to stand out from the crowd. :D

Must say, the 1520 has a lovely huge display, tried it out at my local Vodashop and was very tempted whilest waiting for the Note 4. Windows Phone UI is simply stunning and when an app is built from the ground up for WP, following WP UI guidelines, there is no beating its UI, I know someone who owns one and they are loving it, they've sent me screenshots and I was just blown away by its UI, I also have a friend with a Lumia 820 and she swears by it, even wrote an essay on her 820 using Word just to try it out, and having used her 820 I was quite impressed.

I'm not a big Microsoft fan, but had they gone with the Metro UI earlier, let's say in 2008, I think they would be battling neck-and-neck with Android, such a shame WP came so late, they left too much of a gap between WM and WP, and when they launched WP it was so empty and limited while both iOS and Android were getting big features update after update.

Stunning OS IMO, but wouldn't jump to it, not when I'm so invested in Android for my phones and iOS for my tablets.

And therein lies the rub!!

Right now no OS and/or manufacturer has a significant enough advantage over the other to make a user, heavily invested in a particular platform, cross over.

It's a bitch of a market to crack!!

I just love the way every website or app with docs/text always fits to and renders perfectly on the iPhone screen.

Same with Android, at least in my experience.

Only issue is opening documents in landscape on my iPad, I always have to do a bit of zoom adjusting before the doc looks perfect.

Indeed!
Major win for us consumers, plenty choice! :D

I can happily recommend a Samsung, Apple, Sony, LG or HTC to someone who wants a smartphone with a ~5inch display, and I know they will get great apps, a powerful phone, great camera, good batt life and excellent performance, its just down to which they feel most comfy with.

Gave my Mom my S4 when I got my Note 4,so she could get used to a bigger display while she waits to get her iPhone6 next month. She is happily using both her iPhone5S and Galaxy S4, all apps she wants, are available on both, she is loving the bigger display and is using the S4 non-stop to read news, FB etc...She has an iPad 4 as well but finds it too heavy for using for long periods.

She won't be getting an S5 though as she has been loyal to Apple since the 3GS, much like I have stuck to Samsung since the S2, its more a thing of familiarity. I can use a Xperia Z3, Htc One M8, iPhone 6 Plus or LG G3 and won't have an issue, I just prefer Samsung. Even moving to the Note took me a while as I was so used to the compact nature of the S range.

Glad your experience is like that. To me, it's just quite not the same as iPhone. It's as if websites are optimised for it.
