Ntflix SA vs USA

Hey guys,

Well I logged onto to my Netflix account on a device that does not have its DNS settings changed and I see that the SA Netflix has a much better selection of movies than the USA Netflix. I tried to cast one of the movies onto my Fire TV which is using the American Netflix and it just gave me an error. But when I tried with a series that both of them have, it worked fine. So now I'm not sure what to do as if I reset the DNS settings, then Amazon Prime will stop working but if I keep them, then I'm still using the Netflix USA.

Thinking about it, maybe I can get a Chromecast so that I can cast the SA Netflix stuff that isn't on the USA one.

What are your thoughts?

You didn't say what you're using to access Netflix US. I know for unotelly you can turn off the region setting which means it will default to Netflix SA.
 
Hi guys

Something to try which I have just noticed - use your US account on the SA networks and get the SA content. What happens if you have an SA account and log on from behind a service?

A nice thing about Netflix is that your account gives you access worldwide subject to local availability. So if you travel to the UK and use your SA account you'll get UK content. Same goes for travelling to the US. Likewise when someone with a UK account comes to SA they'll get SA content.

If you're using a service like Unotelly and select a country then you'll appear to be in that country and get that country-specific content regardless of where your account is based. :)
 
O I see.... Where do you go to change the country? I can't find it on there website.

There is no "SA" or "US" account. It's all exactly the same and changes based on your location.
 
Ok, I found out how to change location.
Yes, there is no Netflix account for each country. The content changes based on what country you are watching from.

The problem I was having is that I couldn't find where to find that page where you can change the countries. That's what I was asking, but I found eventually.

No. From what I gather SA gets limited Access, and US gets Unlimited access, that is why you want to use a service to disguise where you access from and change it to America so you can get the full content. Is that correct?
 
No they don't get unlimited access. But they do have a much bigger catalogue.

The account is exactly the same for everyone and changes based on the country you are in (or it thinks you are in) so there is no need for multiple accounts etc as you can use one and the same account for all regions.

US doesn't have unlimited shows, they just have a lot more by default. Some shows are only in the UK or only in Scandinavia etc.
