Nvidia 8600GT in SA?

Quake 4 is locked at 60FPS, so your previous PC must have sucked (no offence), since my 7900GT hits the ceiling all the time @ 1600x1200 with 8xAA on Ultra Quality. [Brag mode off] :D

I think a game such as Company of Heroes or Command and Conquer 3 would give a more accurate picture, since they use the system MUCH more than Quake 4. That's where your PC would wipe the floor with mine.

Hmm same price from pcint except they got the XFX where as eurobyte have sparkle, my friend has a sparkle 7800 and I havent seen much difference between my XFX and his but I still like the XFX brand :)

guys eurobyte is expensive check out axiz and fronto

under 2.7k

but phophecy beat everything with the chaintech for 2.9k inc vat

where do you find the prices for axiz though cause they say there product page is being updated or something...

I see what you mean, the 8600gt hardly seems worth it until dx10 is needed

By that time I'd rather go with a nice cheap 8800GTS, they are already well priced, there will be tons of people selling them off to get the latest 8900GTX in a few months :D

Yeah it did suck :p, 7600GS

But C&C:3 I also play at that resolution, but I never played it before I got the 8800GTS (I'm not much of a gamer but I'm getting into it now :) ), but it seems to run at the same speed no matter how many units I have (or enemy units there are in the area), it's quite fast paced so I kinda get lost in what to do, but I'm getting the hang of it ;)

Oblivion also runs quite fast (not Quake4 fast but much much better than 7600GS), I know that game is a CPU/GPU monster!

If anybody wants them pc 123 has stock.

For those interrested I got this email from pc123:

To all our customers who have been waiting for the nVidia 8600GTS graphics cards, they have arrived today and we have limited stock. Please see details on our homepage at www.pc123.co.za if you are interested in purchasing one of these BEAUTIES today! But hurry, stock is limited!

Best regards,

The PC123 Team

I just hope that theres a reason they have them before other e-tailors, and that reason is also the reason why they are so expensive :/

If they hit R2000 elsewhere I'd be interested.
