Nvidia feels the pinch

Keeper i don't care who is better, ati or nvidia, i have owned both companies card's in my gaming life but stating that 280 sli gets beaten by a 4870x2 and offering no decent source other than google is wrong in so many ways.

Anyways you can live in your world where your 4870x2 beats 280sli but back on earth i will let you have your moment :p

Then you say it might be photoshopped, then I tell you where to find them.

Then google suddenly isn't good enough.

well, even if it only beat 1 GTX280 by 1 FPS, it's still R700 cheaper :D

I just phoned esquire they have the 295 for 5.4k ex vat :), 400 bucks more is worth it thats for sure :).

That's not a bad price. Obviously then it is a better buy than the 4870x2, cause last time I check, they are R6500+-. The thing is, unless you have the correct screen, eg 24"+ you won't be using the full potential of the card. :D

there a 4870X2 beats 2 GTX280's in SLI, and, lol, it seems 2 4870X2's in XFire is beating 3 X GTX 280's in Tri-SLI too!

So it's 2 x 4870's for : R 10,200 -OR- 3 x GTX280's for R 17,100

what an easy choice!

280 sli beats the 295 is most cases and we know the 295 beats the 4870x2.

no, just took 1 benchmark as i'm tired of posting them as well - took COD4 cause it's the most popular.

We all know it will beat it with crysis cause crysis is an nVidia Optimized game.

You can actually PLAY vantage? what are the controls?

who cares about ghost recon - COD 4 is MUCH more widely played.

This is 8th of jan testing :), you can believe what you want to believe but i can see the guru article and i trust them, they are not biased and they never produce anything fake.

Look at the article and then i would love to see your answer and what excuses you will come up with, personally i think 280sli is waste of money because the performance you get is not worth the price.

Ya dude i have not once said that running 3 280's is a good idea, its a stupid idea purely because you lose like 70% of each card you add so price/performance its not worth it. 280sli does beat a 4870x2 in performance but price/performance its a big loser :p
 
And The ATI can actualy have AA and AF swich on where nvidia take a penalty

nVidia predicts a revenue decline of 50% this quarter. that's huge...

If ATI's Next series is gonna be any good, nVidia better watch out - They are coming!

LOL no. It's people that don't actually follow the industry always recommend them. Just like how even in the Pentuim 4 era everyone still thought they were good, because the sticker said "pentuim".

Um ... but it's not actually working - as in encoding DivX's and all that good stuff like (limited sure) PhysX implementations - now is it ...

Seriously - it's amazing watching the GPU crunch a DivX movie into a multitude of formats in next to no time. Makes the added value proposition excellent.

Not even the most expensive Intel Core i7's can come close to what the GPU is capable of (yet).
