Nvidia GeForce NOW SA launch

Okay nice. So, they are still actively sending invites. :)
Yea I also just got mine a few minutes ago, after having signed up last year as soon as the first article came out about the rain/nvidia partnership announcement. Hang in there.

It's tough, but oh well, guess it's all that we can do at this stage :cautious:

Just a quick question guys, everyone who received invites do they at least have accounts with Rain? As in they have your ID number on file when you registered an account not necessarily have a product.

I have an account but there's no ID on it and it won't allow me to edit the ID for some reason so I'm wondering if this isn't impacting it?

It would be a stretch to ask for logins so we can test it hey?

Sign-ups were announced, I created an account, filled in my details for the beta and that's it. Got my invite yesterday

That e-mail you got, I'm interested to see what it looked like and the address it came from, just to keep a look-out you know?

Should only come from [email protected] and if you are a bit wary create an account on Rain and see if you have access to Geforce Now page. Or just check if the link goes to rain.co.za/nvidia/join-now

Imagine if Rain replicated Nvidia's "founders" status for all the early adopters of this service so they'd get early access to the 4080 tier (if it comes) or be immune to price hikes.

Same way they barely touched their legacy unlimited off peak package.

Thoughts?

Anyone think we’ll be able to test out the RTX 3080 tier in the beta or they keeping it for launch?

About 7min of game play at max streaming settings in the GeForce Now App. At the max resolution on priority tier it's quite heavy on traffic. You can set it lower but I set it to max because I want the best experience. Data usage is not a problem for me.

Would love to test and get my monies worth from Internet since no ISOs are interesting me lately :D

As I continue to wait

I'm quite loving it at the moment. Bit of a glitchy experience last night but not sure how much of that was my pc because my main cooler failed :( Still funny to be gaming at good rate with minimal fan sounds. My gpu normally goes ape.

I played Cyberpunk for a full session last night. Struggled to initially connect, it just gave me a general error (on Nvidia Shield). Third time I tried it connected.

Overall was a good experience but the 3060 in the system is just a bit underpowered for Cyberpunk and couldn't get it to a locked 60 while still looking good. Input lag is okay.

I still find playing PC games in the lounge annoying compared to consoles, as a lot of games still expect you to have a keyboard and mouse like Cyberpunk which launches two separate popup windows before the games starts. Not having to worry about Windows and driver updates is a big plus though.

Also the fragmentation doesn't help, having so many games launchers is a PITA.

Overall I think Nvidia probably has the best streaming tech out there right now, the quality and latency was really good (I did manually set my bitrate way up). I just still struggle to see myself using it over just booting up a console.
