Nvidia GeForce NOW SA launch

I haven't played much of AC Mirtage yet have so much to play but it works for me?
Thanks, you JHB people must stop showing off with your "we live next to the dc" pings  but don't worry us CPT people get our revenge when you want to play internationally and you get that sweet sweet 20-30ms extra latency for international traffic, that we get for local traffic :ROFL::ROFL:

I'm loving how well Rain 4G holds up with Geforce Now. But I'm not surprised, I previously used the service using UK servers and I averaged +700GB a month from just Geforce Now gaming on 1080p 60fps.

New games got added.

Beat me to it! I find the reddit GeForce now subreddit pretty good for this kind of thing (and I can see a few posters here do too!):

Anyone seeing weird loss via the GeForce now network testing tool?
If I use WiFi it says 0 loss. If I switch to ethernet cabled I have a 15% loss - that I can't replicate to anywhere else (either via WiFi or cabled)...

Anyone know what the end GeForce server I can test to is or do I need to dump traffic and see?

EDIT - Quick dump shows:

So weird its only over Ethernet

Think you should realistically expect around R200 to R350 per month, mate.
Doubt it'll cross the R250 mark. It currently costs R190 to use Geforce Now with a US account or around R230 with a UK account. It won't make sense for them to charge us higher. I think R150-R180 will be the amount FOR NOW.

So this is something @PBCool or @TheRoDent needs to maybe have a look at. They are reaching Rain through their transit provider and not via peering because Rain is announcing the 196.46.64.0/21 at NAP JHB and CPT.

For which? Keep in mind, the tier we are on is basically free in other territories. I wouldn't expect it free but using a price comparison is skew, they haven't even allowed ultimate etc yet.

Actually I see ours is a but hybrid of free and priority, especially session length.

Priority Plan will definitely not cost more than R200. Ultimate will be a bit pricier though

One of the biggest issues I have with the priority plan is the ability to save graphic settings is disabled. You need ultimate for that "feature"

Mine persisted in Starfield?

Some games do save settings like Ubisoft+ game but other games like Battlefield does not save the graphics settings and it defaults to Nvidia recommended settings each session.

The option to save settings in the Nvidia app is disabled for Free and Priority plan. It's only available for Ultimate.

Tested on Mibox 4 and Chromecast Android TV. On both GFN complained about 2.4ghz. Got a noticeable controller lag on the Mibox, but on the Chromecast it was smooth (even though it's 2.4GHZ).

Thanks.
I asked them in the CISP thread and got the following feedback.

"We already do learn this route at all common peering points."

Indeed, but it's coming from both Rain directly and Vodacom. It's not a train smash but the Rain NLD between CPT and JHB looks slightly lower in latency than the Vodacom one and this could be because they use a different NLD and once the traffic reaches JHB it needs to go over a cross connect from Vodacom to Rain because Rain uses Vodacom for transit internationally. I think Vodacom is also announcing that range at IXP which Rain should probably change.

Yeah I tested this morning with Mibox 3 and PS4 controller. Controller lag and for some reason, the buttons are Xbox buttons.

Not sure how to fix this. If I can get it to work it would be great for my oldest boy to play on the Mibox. I don't want to let him play on the PS4, scared he will delete kak or something. He still learning.
