Massive update to GFN in September. Not sure if we will get the features since it's Alliance but GFN direct has some very decent upgrades coming including access to the RTX5080 GPU's etc.
-----------------------------------
Hey, GeForce NOW is seeing the biggest change it has had to date, and I hope you're just as excited as I was to hear this.
__This September__ in 2025, GeForce NOW will be using the Blackwell architecture.
What does this mean? GeForce RTX 5080 powered rigs in the cloud, available for ultimate users. This means you can enjoy your games in even higher quality and performance.
__RTX 5080 Rigs On Ultimate Tier:__
The Blackwell architecture is being utilised on the GeForce RTX 5080 provides a whopping __48GB__ frame buffer, 62 teraflops of compute performance and the ability to use NVIDIA DLSS 4, the latest AI enhancements.
This amount of performance on this architecture leads to a __2.8x__ faster frame-rates compared to the previous generations servers and is __3x__ more powerful than the PlayStation 5 Pro.
These new rigs would also be utilising AMD's Zen 5 CPUs alongside NVIDIA ConnectX - 7 SmartNICs.
- Doom: The Dark Ages
> The 4080 reaches just over 50FPS, whereas the 5080 reaches over 150FPS
- Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
> The 4080 reaches around 70FPS and the 5080 reaches around 190FPS.
- Dune: Awakening
> The 4080 reaches sub-100FPS, but the 5080 dominates and almost reaches a staggering 250FPS.
- Cyberpunk 2077
> The 4080 just about hits 50FPS whereas the 5080 hits over 150FPS yet again.
- Flight Simulator 2024
> The 4080 reaches just shy over 100FPS and the 5080 reaches just over 200FPS.
__-# Both rigs are running at 4k resolution with maximum settings, where DLSS is set to balanced and DLSS MFG is set to 4x for the 5080 and 2x for the 4080.__
Alongside this, NVIDIA has collaborated with various ISPs, with companies such as: Comcast, Deutsche Telekom AG, BT Group and more.
Comcast is enhancing low-latency for GeForce NOW cloud gaming through DOCSIS, Deutsche Telekom AG is integrating GeForce NOW into it's 5G+ Networks and BT Group will be implementing L4S and 5G slicing to provide high-quality broadband and performance wherever you may be.
The 5080 rigs will __only be available for a select few games__ that require/or can use the extra performance, allowing you to push games to their limits and to give you the best possible experience on those higher demanding games.
__End User Enhancements:__
With this amount of power available on the ultimate tier, this gives you the ability to reach __360FPS on a 1080p resolution__ with NVIDIA Reflex, which can provide a click-to-pixel response time as low as 30ms.
But, we're not done there, because you also are able to stream your games in __5K at 120FPS__.
The new streaming quality resolution and frame-rate support can be seen below:
- 5K 60/120FPS
- 1440P 240FPS
- 1080P 360FPS
There will also be a new option to use for your stream quality, called "Cinematic-Quality Streaming", CQS for short.
CQS offers a noticeable leap in image quality and graphic fidelity, using a range of technologies powered by the Blackwell architecture.
- Improved colour accuracy
> There will be support for the YUV colour model with 4:4:4 chroma sampling and 10-bit HDR support.
- Supersmooth streaming
> The advanced AV1 codec ensures uninterrupted play and seamless adaptation to your internet connection.
- Crystal-Clear Graphics
> There'll be AI-Powered video filters, which are available on select games, more crisp text, a sharper HUD and less visual noise or blur, even in fast-paced scenes, which gives you that feeling of native-play even though you're on the cloud.
- Blazing-Fast Bitrates
> There'll be support for __100Mb/s bit-rate streaming__, which provides even more detail and colour accuracy to your screen so you can make the most of both your internet connection and GeForce NOW.
NVIDIA today announced that the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture is coming to GeForce NOW™, marking the cloud gaming platform’s biggest update yet.
