Hey i have this strange issue with my nvidia drivers on linux. i duno if its coz im a noob, or if its something with my pc. i installed nvidia 180 drives for amd64 machines and activated them and everything. Now i am running a dual monitor config, which works 100% in windows, but it cant seem to work in linux.
as soon as i boot, it makes my screen a massive screen like 2500x900, which i can scroll by moving my mouse to the left/right, but this is really irritating. i tried to set it to my dual monitor setup, but im not sure which settings i should be using (xinerama, dual view?). i get something to work, but then it cuts off the bottom taskbar, coz the one resolution is smaller than the main one.
But this is not the worst part. the worst is that every time i reboot, it goes back to the stupid big resolution, as if i had changed nothing the previous time. And i cant seem to save the nvidia config in /etc/........, so i save it in my documents, but i have a feeling these are related. Am i supposed to be running the nvidia settings with admin rights or something?
