Well there's your problem...

You signed a contract AND with Mweb... I would've gone Iconnectsa or even try get some other company to get you Fiber access...
There are problem's being report that Chrome is acting weird on Mweb's network, try going here

And reporting it there as well maybe? or you could report directly to Mweb Guy via Facebook.

I would not trust MWEB as an ISP. They have become the worst ISP out there in my mind

Thank you - have tried changing it to this on the router itself as per your recommendation, makes no difference :/

Still no call back from mweb.:cry::cry:

Have you sent a message to the Mweb rep on the forum? He is usually quick to sort out issues.
You can also try any other ADSL ISP as well, they all pay for IPC. Just see if you have the same issues. Afrihost has free midnight data (I think on the 1GB capped account as well), so try that out tomorrow night. Or else use the 1GB piece but that will be gone fast on 100Mbps.

Switch ISP's

They will never resolve your issue. It is always either rare or unheard off or some other excuse.

Leave

Well, you could give notice as this being a breach of contract if you can fix it when moving to another ISP at it would then be their fault.
You should give Mweb a chance to fix it though.

MWEB Capped isn't shaped, it's some of the best bandwidth in SA. Consider how you get full speed on other protocols, except a few sites. Have you tried a different browser? As there have been some issues with Chrome, if you use it.

When stated that a VPN fixes these issues, it has nothing to do with his PC. Just from that statement the problem is external of his PC. What OP should actually do is get a test account from Afrihost. If that is more of a flawless solution, then your statement about mweb's bandwidth becomes flawed.

I am unable to replicate the issues, and we know no one has ever complained about them. Only difference is 99.9% of us are on ADSL, though I doubt this makes a difference.

Why did you go with Mweb for your fibre? How much does your connection cost you?

See, as stated, never able to replicate the issue, always rare. What a joke.

How is it a joke? It's the truth of the matter. You won't find any other complaints like it.

yet they are popping up all over the place. Just look at the adsl thread. Honestly, MWEB need to admit they have a problem, and don't know what it is or how to fix it.

The chrome issue only exists on MWEB. What utter BS

The problem is with YouTube on Chrome with MWEB Uncapped, which is actively being looked into.

This thread is about MWEB Capped, some of the best bandwidth in the country, where there are no issues like those in the OP.

Anything else?

Again making statements without proof. You cannot state that their capped product offers some of the best bandwidth in the country, without proving it.

And as a counter to nobody else is complaining argument you love to use. I have yet to see a single person other than yourself say they are happy with mweb, and that they are offering value for money, or even quality.

He has an issue, and to solve his issue is simple. Switch ISP's

I have many years of experience, and experience with many ISPs.

MWEB is the second largest ISP in South Africa. MWEB has one of the quietest feedback threads on MyBroadband. It says it all.

Many people state they are happy with MWEB, you just don't see it. I can link you to several posts right now from learned forumites. But why would they need to state this? MWEB just works. People always talk about support. Well that's the beauty of MWEB, one doesn't ever need support, something a lot of people could learn from when they start asking themselves why they continuously need support from their ISP, when they should just work.

You had a one-off issue which could not be replicated. Move on and stop being a disservice to consumers who can benefit from MWEB.

Everybody always have a one off issue that cannot be replicated. That is always your excuse for everything. And that is exactly my point.

And being the biggest means squat when the product is not giving the people what they are paying for.

Please provide me with the links.

P.S. Saying constantly we are investigating and never finding answers is not service, it shows that people don't know what they are doing.

Plenty more, but it's really not important. Being the second largest ISP with one of the quietest feedback threads really says it all. Perhaps it will take you some time to get your head around this, because you're clearly new to this and the general ISP game over many years in SA. You registered in 2014; I registered in 2005. You know your experience was a one-off, and the fact that you use this against MWEB at any opportunity shows just how much you care for consumers looking for a quality and affordable connection.

I honestly don't care when you registered or when I registered.

The fact remains that providing feedback of We will check and then nothing for 2 weeks means buggerall, as you do not provide proper feedback.

Yes, I care for other consumers. Getting the best quality for the best value. If you trace back my account on MWEB, you will see that the first one was opened in my name in 1998 or earlier, when it was iafrica. From there I was loyal through all the **** I had to deal with.

Oh, and my issue is not isolated
