OCZ Vertex 450 SSD - Total Failure

I bought an OCZ Vertex 450 in November 2015, and was very impressed with the speed. I installed this beast in my mac...

Yesterday, my macbook froze, and I performed a hard reset. Upon restarting, the SSD was completely dead. The mac couldn't recognize the drive at all.

I am meticulous with my hardware, and this SSD/Mac wasn't bumped or anything like that.

My question is, what could cause this catastrophic failure? I plugged in the drive in another mac, and I couldn't format it using disk utility, or even via terminal. I tried everything.

I also need assistance with data recovery if anyone has had a similar experience. I tried basically every data recovery software I could think of; even had a friend connect it on his linux and run a syslog to see if anything was happening, and no luck. Now, complete data loss aside, we cannot even format the drive. I am hoping it is not 3.5k down the drain :(

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
 
It's only been 3 months, bring it back under warranty.
Data recovery wise, was the data worth a lot/personal stuff? Data recovery is usually quite expensive.

I use time machine, and back up religiously. I just did not expect the SSD to die. Especially being less than 2 months old. I had my engagement photos on there, and for some stupid reason I deleted them off my iphone as well. I am talking about a back up gap of 11 days. And it just seems that during that 11 day gap this would happen.

OCZ drives sometimes die in windows pc's when you get BSOD. This personally happened to me before.

Not sure something similar happened in your mac ,but it was common problem with OCZ drives that just die back in the days. Not sure if it is still happening?

I read this article as well. It seems there is a bug and the SSD cannot handle sleep mode. However, I cannot even reformat the drive.
 
Speak to Southbit. From what I understand, it's notoriously difficult to recover data of ssd's.
 
My ocz agility 3 just died on Saturday. It worked fine since 2011, then on Sunday it was there and the next moment the game I was playing just closed and the drive could not be found. No smoke, no beep, no flash, no churning noise. Just dead. Very different to how a HDD fails.
