Hi all. I have a problem. When I download my emails through Microsoft Outlook and there is any Word or Excel documents; I get a "Word has encountered an error..." message and Excel gives me a " your file is corrupt" message. I can open the files perfectly fine in Word pad and Open office.

If I save the attachments to my local drive they still won't open. Any Word or Excel files that I have on my local drive open fine. If I receive Word or Excel files through any other way such as Drop box for example they open fine.

So obviously the problem lies with Microsoft Office. I have done a office repair but that didn't help. I have checked for viruses and my pc is clean. I did a scandisc and an "sfc/ scannow". I have done all windows and office updates.

I have no idea what could be the cause. Any ideas?

Hi

I would suggest accessing your mail through a web interface and try and download the attachments from there and open them. If they still give problems contact your systems administrator but if it works fine on the webmail then there is issues with Ourlook.
