He really has been disappointing.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt last season and thought he is still finding his feet at the Sharks.

And he was so good for the Kings 2 years ago. Expected big things from him.

Sigh.

The pain of the Lions supporter continues.

WW at least knows, and feels the burden of our disappointment, as his post-match comments show.

(The side one supports is not a rational choice. It's a visceral thing. So it's not easy to just change one's mind and switch to another. And so our pain persists. And our hope.)

Agree with WW, lions were lacking in every aspect of the game

OH well, some proper sport to support tomorrow at least

Final score

Stormers 27 vs Blues 16

Given the time in the game in which the a Blues were reduced to 14, the score line and restricted to 2 tries, the was an epic failure. And then there's the booing at the opposition... doesn't get more low class than that.

Good game for the Sharks. Securing the bonus points wherever they can could prove vital at the back end of the tournament.

The Blues rattled the Stormers, the backline didn’t even utilise the width. At the moment Triggs was given the red, all the Blues did was to hammer the Stormers, shoulder barge again and again. The Blues didn’t play nice and I doubt that Triggs will be able to play in the upcoming matches. At least we took the win, no bonus try, but it is 2/2.

A very long season awaits us Lions supporters I'm afraid. A 60% of thunder showers are predicted for JHB on Saturday. The Stomers scrums are much better. I cannot see the Lions winning this one. Stomers and any other team to dominate in JHB again.

Lions supporters should get ready for a high probability that the Lions team will be at 0 wins after 7 rounds. The wooden spoon is beckoning for the team.

I think we all need to take a few minutes and think of what a great team the Bulls would have been if they had fit forwards...

There are currently no teams even remotely close to outplaying the current Stormers outfit unfortunately. They have a great pack of forwards and they are at each and every breakdown in numbers. That coupled with their enforcer Duane. I can't see them losing anytime soon.

[-]The upset of the season might just be the Cheetahs. Let's hope they get a few wins overseas.[/-]

WTF? I thought the by is for traveling. I only notice now the Cheetahs are only traveling in March?

TMO Shaun Veldsman assaulted

South African Television Match Official Shaun Veldsman was assaulted in his car after officiating Saturday's Super Rugby match between the Stormers and Blues at Newlands.

According to Netwerk24, Veldsman was attacked in his 'bakkie' on the N2 after leaving the stadium.

The incident occurred at about 21:00, with Veldsman on his way to Robertson. He was stabbed in his lung.

SARU's head of corporate affairs, Andy Colquhoun, said Veldsman's window on the driver's side was broken and someone stabbed him with a sharp object.

"He has a hole in his lung after being stabbed," said Colquhoun.

Veldsman managed to escape from the vehicle and ran away, before someone helped him on the side of the road.

The car's ignition was damaged but only Veldsman's cellphone was stolen. His bag with laptop was still lying on the back seat.

Veldsman was in a stable condition in the Stellenbosch Medi Clinic on Sunday.

It remains unsure if he'll be able to be in the TMO booth for Saturday's Six Nations match between Ireland and England in Dublin.

Jeez. First thought that came up was that it wasn't his call for the red card...

Then I read further and see it is just another day in paradise. Not linked to the rugby.
