I'm happy with this, changed my account to uncapped this morning. I'm also happy that the 24/7 torrent kiddies will be using another isp. Good luck with your continual quest to download everything available on the net, we won't miss you. No ISP can ever make a cent from your subscription anyway.
Having said that, I would now like to have a b1tch at Afrihost. It's currently impossible to browse international sites on my 512k uncapped, and has been all day. This won't do. Please fix it now. Thanks.

Well, it is the 1st of the month, and with minimal shaping in place for everyone you can expect a heavily congested pipe. But as long as you are patient and behave yourself, you should have the pipe pretty much all to yourself when everyone else is throttled a few weeks into the month.

Yeah, not a whole lot of thought has gone into this product...

That reasoning is going to lead to failure. You get individually shaped & throttled based on your bandwidth usage, not on how big the pipe is.

I suppose it's easy to attack the person and not the issue. What I said is 100% accurate and should enlighten Steve, else he is going to find himself disappointed when what he believes does not materialise.

Haha yeah, was more tongue-in-cheek than anything hey.

Thing is, Gian didn't mention anything about throttling with regards to the 384/512 users? I would really like some clarification on that because I have yet to max out my line speed and I'm WAY belong the 60GB mark
 
I have used VERY little bandwidth this month and my torrents are moving AT 10.3 kB/s.
Safe to say I am being shaped - WHY?

Initially you will be getting our standard service. (i.e.
certain ports are shaped somewhat and web and email are
prioritised.)

After you have moved 30 GBs you will be moved into a
different category whereby certain ports will be shaped
more aggressively. However, web and email will still be
prioritised.

Since I haven't moved 30 gigs then I am confused - is this somewhat shaped (read unusable).

Im just saying.
Please Note I actually understand contention and shaping, the need for it. I just think the thresholds are bonkers! I was happy with the "hundreds of gigs".

Just did a test on my 384. is that correct?
i am getting 2 kbps downloads on torrentz.

i think they shaping the torrents though?
