Official Fallout 4 Thread

Got to play for an hour last night, really nice so far. Have to get used to the new perk chart, but the graphics are great. Still need to figure out a lot of the new stuff, but will do so as I go along (like the whole building stuff).

Just for info, with my GTX960 the game usually runs at 50fps, drops to minimum of 40-45 fps usually. That is on Ultra settings (game default) at 1080p. And the card is sitting at 50 degrees. Haven't played with any settings yet.

I played a good few hours on ps4 last night including some indoor and outdoor battles, no sign of any slow down or frame rate issues.

Indeed. I started the pre-download Sunday morning at 7. Stopped at 6am on Monday and it was only at 22 GB. Finished the rest Monday evening. For some reason my steam downloads almost never go full line speed, usually around 70%.

If I buy an Xbox one copy, would I need to go online prior to playing it? No decent internet at home...

I think most PS4 and XB1 games can play without any internet connection, but you do not want to do that. The patches are pretty much required for an acceptable experience. If you don't have internet at home you need to cart your XB1 around to places that do have internet.

In the case of Fallout 4, I think console players did have a big day one patch to download.

I started mine on Monday and it's around 80%, granted its off during the day but it seems to crawl at night 80-120kbps,meh. Should be done by tomorrow.

No additional download for me on the PS4 that I was aware of. Just the 28gb game file.
