Official Fallout 4 Thread

Unfortunately I've never played the previous games, so I can't comment on the complaints about it being oversimplified or "dumbed down"

I can just say no crashes or glitches after 10 hours.

Finally found a PS4 copy! Have to study tonight and tomorrow. After my exam on Friday people will only see me on Monday morning.

lots of feedback that this game (based on PC version) is complete garbage.

just look at the feedback where bethesda cannot control or "moderate", like user reviews on Steam and Metacritic.

4.7/10 average User Score on Metacritic, doesn't say much for this game.

Metacritic has a user score of 4 for Diablo 3. Thus their user scores are utter rubbish.

We all now reviewers sometimes get compensated to give AAA titles good scores, that being said, the reason I read critic reviews instead of user reviews is the fact that they review the game by it self, ex. Fallout 4 as a stand alone title, no previous games are taken into account, they don't exist.

I think that's the way it should be. All the bad reviews, except for the odd bug, seem to be people disappointed that it didn't live up to expectations, they don't like X because Fallout 3 or Y has changed too much, get over it and move on, take the game on it's own merits and leave the nostalgia.

What i want Fallout 4 to be, Fallout 3/new vegas with Fallout 4's engine and graphics...simple.

Same here, I just love fallout so much. Favourite game series along side mass effect. I liked the older ones but didn't care much for some of the crappier sequels. Still played em and I'm sure I'll love this. Honestly don't care about pretty graphics, just wana play!!

The gfx look like something from 2010. The game engine is a slightly modified skyrim one and badly optimised. I'll think about giving it a spin in the near future.

I love Fallout. Could do with more landscape variation thou. Like some forests, abandoned cities-metropolis style etc.

Honestly from the videos ive seen the graphics are amazing and i really like them, definitely a step up from previous fallouts (obviously). What open world game would you say has better graphics than FO4?

This game is kicking my ass. Its so much harder than 3 and NV. And if you say the graphics looks **** without playing it, you are wrong.

I was thinking earlier seeing as The Witcher series and the Elder Scrolls are sort of the same genre I would love to see the CD Projekt RED guys do their version of the post apocalyptic future. The Witcher 3 amazing story telling and graphics in a nuclear wasteland.

Only got to play for another hour last night. I think it is a good game, and for the amount of time it will keep you busy even R800 is not a lot. The graphics look good for the Fallout theme. I haven't explored a lot yet but it looks like a long campaign.

The problem with sequels is that people get hyped up and then nothing is good enough. If they make it the same as Fallout 3 or NV, people will complain that it is just a copy. Now they change some things and people complain it is not the same. It happens with every game. Just enjoy the game for what it is.

I think people should at least play through the main story before saying the game is crap.

So far I'm enjoying it. Playing it on the Xbox One and even with the FPS dropping a bit here and there it's by no means unplayable, the worst I had was blowing up a couple of cars during a gun fight and even then it wasn't game breaking.

I've barely touched the main story and I'm already 10 hours in, exploring every nook and cranny, picking up loot as far as I go and building up my settlements. This will keep me busy for a long time and I'm rotating my game time with Legacy of Void to keep me from getting bored with it.

That's more Deus Ex than Fallout, and that's not a bad thing, it just need to have the same scale as The Witcher 3 and I'm in, now the long for "when it's ready"

Managed to get some game time in this morning and had no issues with the graphics at all, ran really well and I'm looking forward to getting stuck in tonight!
