Official Fallout 4 Thread

I picked up my copy from my local Musica yesterday (received a nice poster with it as well). So far I'm enjoying the game and mainly focusing on exploring, getting better gear and building settlements. This game should keep me busy for a very long time.
 
Finally got to play last night, nuclear blasted landscapes sure are pretty! :)
 
Started playing last night on PS4 and I'm overwhelmed. I played NV a long time ago and haven't played many games in the last while. So the learning curve feels steep.

Couldn't figure out how to get out of the armor suite fter I got in it :) - will Google that.

What's the point of building up settlements though?
 
Looking forward to the visual mods for this game. At times it looks really janky. I've always found it pathetic that a single individual can produce astonishing texture packs for a game shortly after release, when a professional and big budget development team that has been working on the game for years couldn't.

The dog is a nice touch. The weapon mods are awesome. Voice acting, the dialogue and facial movements are woeful for a 2015 game. I like the idea of building your own settlement a lot, but the building system is terrible. Hopefully mods step in to save the day. I'd have much preferred a system similar to Hearthfire for Skyrim, where you just pay for certain construction choices and have them done professionally. Much less time consuming and much better looking.

But is there some kind of reward? Do the townsfolk pay the king, so to say?

Will tinker around with it a bit. Probably useful even if it's only to have a home to store stuff and sleep.

Thanks, got the same from Google - just hold in the button you used to climb in - for PS4 it's X.

Pretty sure I tried that and it didn't work. Hope it's not a bug. Will try again tonight.

I had an unexpected day off today and spent most of it building a settlement in Sanctuary.. I fenced and walled around a decent sized area around the workshop and added lookout posts etc.

Now I'm wondering where to get some 'circuitry' for a machine gun turret?

Kitchen appliances. I found some in a telephone at red rocket.
 
Also played a little bit last night. In 2 hours of play I've probably died about 200 times already :)

Got the exiting the armour part sorted too.
 
Is it me or does the male protaganist sound like the dude from Watch Dogs?

How? I only died once in the history museum. Some idiot threw me with a petrol bomb or something. Immediately got the limbs damaged warning, and 2 seconds later I'm dead. Haven't been in many other fights yet though.
 
I'm busy building my settlement, not something I'm enjoying that much as it's rather complicated! Game runs a dream and haven't had any bugs otherwise.
 
My ADSL being broken is really helpful, I now have a full set of Raider, T45, T51 and T60 Power Armor.

What level is everyone at?
 
Level 2... Time is scarce, and we were without power from last night at 7 till this morning at 10. Hopefully this weekend has some more time available, or I might have to get "sick".
 
Level 5 when I stopped last night.

To be honest I don't really know what I'm doing. Just running around looting stuff and doing the odd quest.

Fixed the pipes at the excavations and the bloody things killed Sully before I could talk to him to complete quest. Maybe he will be there when I play again next week.
