Official Fallout 4 Thread

Been playing for more than 5 hours now and now my character gets randomly "stuck" after using a Terminal and exiting.
I can pan around using the mouse but the keyboard doesn't respond and the game doesn't respond to any mouse clicks either.

It seems to be getting worse with a 80% chance after using a terminal my character will get stuck. It's now become normal to just F5 everytime before opening a terminal.

PS: Let's not even go onto the topic of AMD's non-existent Fallout 4 driver update.

I played one 1x 5hour season on Thursday evening, no crashing, no glitches, no performance problems. Seems pretty solid to me. Windows 10 x64, nvidia, Intel.

My crashing issue has mostly been resolved by disabling all autosave options. I still have the occasional crash to desktop, but that's not nearly as annoying as needing to reboot my PC. Hitting F5 frequently is mildly annoying, but a small price to pay for the game actually working.

I really hope this game picks up soon. I'm bored to death with the missions atm.

Such a far cry from Skyrim, which was like gaming crack.

I actually started playing Skyrim again because of Fallout 4 :p

Just downloaded 10gb's of mods :o

Told you so. I gave up on this overhyped *** a few days ago. I played Fallout 3 TWICE. I enjoyed every second of it. I'm still getting this strong urge to go back to exploring the Capital wasteland. I'm missing my LI, Sarah Lyons.

I've got about 12 hours under my belt and can form a good opinion on the game now, I'm a fanboy but there are things even I don't like :

Negatives :

1.The Graphics are serviceable, they could be better, actually should be better but it's ok I'm not all about graphics.
2.The lip syncing is unforgivable, its shocking actually.
3. VATS, why change it so much?I loved the old vats that literally froze time, not a fan of the slow mo vats.
4. Sprinting uses AP, sies. I never have AP, I can understand why they implemented this but I don't like it.
5. Loading times aren't too bad and I've only had one big bug, where I leave my game to do something else for a hour or so, come back and it doesn't respond and the recent save crashes.
6. The settlement building is poorly implemented and there is no tutorial that explains things(that I've found)
7. Synths, seriously lame enemy, once again I'm talking about early game exp.
8. The annoying Boston accents.

Positives:

1.The music is top notch and the atmosphere is great.
2.The Map is big enough, granted I'm scratching the surface but it seems plenty big to me.
3. The voice acting and side quests are good, as is the weapon variety.
4. Gunplay, it's a huge improvement and it feels much better and smoother than the previous games.
5. The game runs really well, I don't have a beast of a machine but I'm comfortably running it on ultra.
6. It's more of what I love, Fallout! Although to be fair it does feel a bit like a add on than a stand alone game at times.

Hopefully some of those negatives will fall away the more I play but this is what stands out for me at the moment.

So more negatives than positives then. I was going to hold on for a bit but saw my son make a purchase on my steam account ... guess I'll give it a bash when I get home on Wednesday.

There are loads of positives but those are the standout ones and the negative ones are my opinion, you might love some of the changes to the game.Definitely worth playing and I'll still sink hours into it.

This game simply does not appeal to me for some odd reason, i've read reviews, looked at gameplay videos etc but there's no urge to play it beyond a slight curiosity. Many games you go wow that looks interesting but this one evokes very little emotion. I'm not even keen to torrent it :D

I'm loving it, but then I've got a thing for the post-apoc genre. It beats The Witcher 3 for GOTY for me.

I must admit - I'm starting to miss the lush colours and scenery of Skyrim. Everything is so damn brown. Also, after trying to fence Sanctury I think I am done with settlement building. Really need a decent tool to build fences.
