Do you have the 2012 model? Would you say CM makes the device perform better?

The performance of my 2012 Nexus 7 became an irritation after I got used to the Samsung GS4, so I'd like to make it faster if possible.

Yes the 2012 model. Wifi only. I can't really compare it with stock firmware, since I rooted within a couple of hours from opening the box and installed CM. I can't complain about the performance on CM. Their ROM has always been light and they drive efficiency within.

Downloaded and sideloaded it yesterday. Took the opportunity to do a full wipe too, in case performance would improve. Haven't had a chance to explore, though, so can't say what, if anything, feels different.
 
Got 4.4 ! With nova launcher beta you get the nice translucent notification bar and dock. Looks beautiful. Only wish google will make the 'google now launcher' available on the app store.
 
Any idea when we can expect the 4.4 OTA update? It started rolling out a few days ago...
