My time with my One was rather brief, but honestly, if you're buying a phone for it's camera, I don't think the HTC is for you. Unless of course you don't zoom into the pic or plan on cropping - then I'd say it's fine.

Picture quality and general speed seems to be better on it than on my S2. But I think the amount of megapixels in the S4 / G2 own it for daytime pics.

A while back I read quite a comprehensive comparison of the S5 and One on GSM Arena. The camera comparison is rather depressing (unless you're a Samsung fan).

After reading that, I still got the One. It's a beautiful phone. That was enough for me.
 
I want to get the PanzerGlass screen protector for my M8 and the asking price seems to be 199 Danish Krones. That translates to almost R400 for a screen protector! :wtf: Hopefully it ends up being worth it.

As for the camera quality I have to admit I am more than happy with it. When I first got my phone I played around a lot with the flash (which can be f***ing blinding!) and this phone can capture some truly amazing shots in the dark! Here is a pic I took of my Dad in a room with the light off:

I received mine yesterday and I'm loving it! Just havent really had a chance to play with it properly yet but the screen and build quality is phenomenal.

Anyone with Afrihost data having APN problems? I cant seem to connect to Afrihost on this phone :confused:
 
Really wanting one of these babies. What's the cheapest way to get one? I see on orange it's R7865. Gumtree and OLX make me nervous..

If you're brave, Gumtree or OLX. But I recommend dodging that bullet. Orange is about the safest best route. Otherwise you can buy them from CelluCity (I think) for around R9700 (give or take).

I am heart broken to see it only costing R7865 now :( I bought mine when it was R8600, and I still don't have it...

You'll see ads on gumtree for like R4000, and when you email them about it, you find it's some scamster, who barely tries to even hide the fact that he wants to steal your money, telling you they have a 'special' going on.

I would be too. Their prices seem to fluctuate quite a bit. When did you order?

11th of June. Got it on the 17th. Discovered an annoying fault with the speakers. DHL picked it up on the 20th and I've been waiting for a replacement since :/

Took about a week for it to get back to England. And then a few days for them to process it (I guess take it out the box and test). Now apparently they're waiting for stock.

That sucks. Says 'in stock' on the site (assuming they're sending you a new one). Oh and aren't they meant to have a warehouse somewhere here now? Wonder if that'll drop prices
 
Ordered mine on Monday for R7 865. Now the wait begins for them to deliver. Hope I'll have it before the weekend so I can play with it. How long for them to deliver? Any idea?

Got mine yesterday and so far so good. life seems amazing. Loving the extreme power saver as well. Orange had excellent service. Would recommend them to anyone.
 
Yup I struggle to kill the battery in 2 days - don't know how they do it.

Hi Mojo, if you don't mind me asking, when did you order?

It's been a month since I got the phone, then had it sent back, and Orange seem to go out of their way to stall my replacement :/ If you ordered it anytime after the 1st of July, I'm going to rage at them!

Last week I mailed them and they said my phone would be shipped early this week as they are sending a whole lot of stock to the new warehouse in JHB.

I'm over using my S2 man :(

Hi ordered mine on the 7th of July. And got it yday. From the waybill it looks like it was shipped from their warehouse in Sunninghill. Was delivered to my office here in Cape Town via Fedx. Another friend of mine ordered here one and also waited about 3 days. She ordered before me luckily I waited and paid about 400 Rand cheaper then what she did. Hope u get your one soon

Did you receive your glass protector? What was the installation like and are you happy with it?
 
What cases do you guys have? I was given the HTC double dip case but am having an issue with the fit. That SPigen case looks amazing..
 
I can't help as I decided to ditch the cases and just go naked with an Orzly tempered glass screen protector to look after the glass. I received the Slickwraps wrap I ordered but it didn't feel as nice as the metal body feels so I'm going naked. Just decided it's pointless to cover up such a beauty even if it means taking the risk...

Likewise.

One thing I have noticed is the screen scratches a lot easier than my s3. Already a few minor scratches from who knows what.

Feels wrong putting a cover on it :(. I'm just using the ubber one that came with it - covers just the back of the phone. I've stuck a screen protector film onto the screen. These do look awesome though...
