Official HTC One thread

Wondering how this will perform vs the new tegra 4 and samsung procs that are coming out soon in the newer devices. Kinda feels like the One X all over again, late to the show, just to be replaced.

..feel free to correct if the hardware in the HTC One is based on new tech, have not read too much into that particular unit as I have my eye on tegra 4
 
This does look like a lovely device, certainly looking the part too... I'll be watching this one closely, as I'm getting a bit tired of my Galaxy Note 1, and either looking into this, Galaxy S4 or Note 3.....

The only problem with this is when the average person sees 4MP camera in the specs versus the usual 8 or higher they might shy away, that's why comparison shots are the best way to show them that it's better.

Late to the show ? It was the 1st quad core phone. It was basically the 1st of it's generation. HTC just doesn't have the marketing budget that Samsung has. To get a better idea what HTC is up against, wiki samsung and get an idea how big the company is.

Anyway mr HTC SA what have you to say about This gsmarena link which says that Cell C and Vodacom will have the phone in SA ?
 
I can't wait for the HTC One to hit the shores. I became a HTC fan boy with the HTC Desire, infact i still use that phone 3 years on. However it starting to give up now, speaker stopped working last week and goes into a restart frenzy if the phone gets too hot.

I just need to keep the phone working till April, i've held back for the HTC one as i feel its like the Desire.... ticks every box.

Realy interested in the pricing and contracts.
 
This had a chat with a lady at MTN, they said they will have stock at the end of March, two weeks before the rest of SA is supposedly getting the stock..

Don't know how true this is though.

Or it could just be that the article was garbage... Which I am inclined to think it was.

The author clearly had not seen the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, the HTC One X, the Nexus 4 and at a stretch, the Samsung Galaxy SII... Five years to build a beautiful Android phone indeed.

If he said it took 5 years to build the most beautiful Android phone- I would agree.

hi htc sa guy any ideas if the HTC one be available on MTN network ? only seen vodacom and cellc come to the party so far ...

We're still in discussions with MTN.
