I agree, but a bowler of Steyn's class and lethality should be taking those wickets without conceding that many runs against teams like Ireland.

He should be having fun and taking wickets cheaply - they should be too damned scared to even try going after him

You underestimate Ireland - most of their players play county cricket and would have decent experience against good bowling. Also Steyn isn't in the kind of form Mitchell Starc hit the other day...or Southee a few games ago.

I'm a fan of batsmen having a bowl...at least they have insight into the batter's thought process. Whereas Wayne on his bad days doesn't have a clue...or at least whatever clue he's got gets knocked out of him the first time he gets put under pressure.

TBH, that's a good return. But against India or New Zealand it would possibly have been tons worse.

We kept big, bad O' Brien to a strike rate under 75...illustrates the value of taking wickets. Big man couldn't take risks because of the risk of getting bowled out.
